Re: Reply to a post gets undeliverable message
Member sent me this, and I'm sorry, I'm not savvy enough to figure it out. ?I don't know what "office 365" is, I don't understand SPF or NDR and I've never used an iPad. ?Two things she has since told me, she's replying from an iPad, and if she types in [email protected]?it goes through, but I DON"T KNOW why she has to type it in. ?Seems to me mine is automatic. ?
Thanks for all responses thus far!!! ?rejected your message to the following email addresses: psb b via Groups.Io (greecianhoney@...) Check the error for information about the problem. The error might tell you what went wrong and how to fix it. For example, if it says the message was blocked due to a potential virus, try sending the message again without attachments. Unfortunately, Office 365 support is unlikely to be able to help with these kinds of externally reported errors. ?gave this error: |

I looked all over my calendar and couldn't find a "cancel event" button anywhere. A search in beta turned up only this:??.?It seems that cancelling an event only notifies those who have RSVPed.?To actually remove an event, you have to delete it, and may have to provide separate notification via a post to the group.
Before posting to beta, I suggest checking with someone you know had previously RSVPed in the affirmative to see if they received the expected notification. If they did, what you're proposing is properly. If not, it's a bug that should be sent directly to support. Although I do have a Premium group, we do not use the RSVP function. Perhaps others here who do can provide better advice.? Hope this helps, Bruce -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

A suggestion to that effect, as well as notifying everyone or adding a notice to the topic, on the beta group might be appropriate. Re: Choose 'no email' for main?
Frank,
Yes. A member of a subgroup has a Subscription page for the subgroup which is separate from the one for the primary group (and separate from any other subgroups). They can choose whatever Email Delivery option they prefer for each.
True. They would need to remain members of the primary group. But, they can set their primary group Subscription to No Email or Special Notices Only. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

Choose 'no email' for main?
Can a member of a group decide they do not want any email from the main group but choose to get email from a subgroup? I wanted to use the "main" group as a discussion forum and a "announce" (receive-only) subgroup just for meeting announcements.? But some members may only want to get the announcements.? From what I can see, if they unsubscribe from the main list, they are out of the entire group. Thanks for any advice. Frank |

Re: Yahoo Transfers are On Again!
I instigated a transfer from Yahoo, had made '[email protected]' a moderator, and had clicked on 'Go ahead to transfer' just before the process was suspended. Nothing has happened since then.
Now than transfers are possible again, do I need to instigate the transfer process again or will it be picked up in due course? Martin |

Look in the group's Activity Log to see if there's an item there
corresponding to your attempted posts.

That confirms that the messages haven't posted to the list.

There are several possibilities:
?
o??Posted to the wrong address (e.e. spelling error in the address you
sent to).
?
o Rejected by your group.
?
o Still in your group's pending message queue (needs to be approved).

Re: Map view option for database tables
Hi Bob,
thanks for the update. I'll work through your steps so I can fully understand your process.? I started by exporting the beta table to a CSV. What happens there is that the single address field on the database gets split out into its sub-fields (address line 1, 2, City, Zip etc.) with a column for each. I think your proposed improvements list looks good and if implemented would add some really useful features.? I would probably like to see a summary of a Google seach for a location at one side of the map. This frequently shows pictures and for places like cafes & restaurants (which is what my table will contain) opening hours and also a link for directions. Regards Andy |

Re: Permalink to topic?
Ok, one can right click on the list of topics, copy the link address.
You end up with a link address: /g/GroupManagersForum/topic/permalink_to_topic/29189544?p=,,,50,0,0,0::recentpostdate%2Fsticky,,,50,2,0,29189544 Yuck. But can edit it down to this: /g/GroupManagersForum/topic//29189544 Convoluted.? Needs a "button"! |

Re: spam prevention for discussion lists
Frank,
But I'm concerned spammers will just create (huge numbers of) dummyUnless you set your group to allow non-subscribers to post the first hurdle for spammer would be joining your group. The bulk spammers won't bother, in my experience it is pretty rare to find one who will go to that trouble. Even on a large group with unrestricted membership. If you do allow non-subscribers to post those messages are always put in the moderation queue, so at worst you'd have to reject them when they happen. I've a couple of groups set this way, the larger one has picked up a recurring spammer trying to sell a related service but so far that comes in only once or twice week, so no big deal to delete from the pending queue. I'm about to create a discussion list (receive-only emails) for ourThat's also a good way to thwart spammers, those few who bother to join your group.
