?I may be missing what you mean by "keywords". I think the search is just a text search of the listed groups' Descriptions. I think it is deficient in some ways, it seems to do only whole-word matches (no partials - searching for "key" won't match "keyword"). It defaults to a match of all of the words in the text box, but you can use OR to make it find "keyword OR keywords"). ? How do I delete my group DSH, so I can get out of here? Scroll down to the very bottom of that group's Settings page, then click the red Delete Group button on the lower right. ?Do this for each group you created (unless you've promoted someone else to own it).? Also, unsubscribe yourself from any other groups you may have joined (such as this one).
Click on your name on the upper right of any Groups.io page to drop-down the menu and select the Account item. Click the red Delete My Account button on the lower right. That should pretty much do it. If you've logged in to Groups.io with more than one email address then you'd need to do the above for each email address. Gene, How do I make my group easy to find using a "keyword" type search? ?Use the keywords in the ?group's Description. For the search box in Groups.io's directory I don't think there's anything else to do. For web search engines like Google there are likely some best practices; such as using the keywords correctly in context in the text of the description. Google tends to down-rank keywords that are in lists of keywords or when HTML tricks have been used to hide the keywords from human view (small font, white-on-white, etc.). Dan, One more wrinkle to all of this.? I believe the ".IO" domain refers to "British Indian Ocean Territory".? ? ?That's correct. ? So, I assume that Mark, or at least this service, is not based in the USA ?That's incorrect. Mark resides in California, the servers are rented from , a company headquartered in Philidelphia. Groups.io also rents cloud storage from Amazon. The registrar does not restrict its customers to just British citizens/organizations. ?

Re: long term viability
As someone who has had to evaluate product technical architectures for potential acquisition, groups.io gets a high rating from me. (Disclaimer: in my job, I would never make this statement without spending weeks or months reading code, talking to engineers, reviewing error logs, etc. I have had no such access-- nor would I want it. That was work!)
In terms of the product itself, I have no fears. I have also been impressed with the development process-- the way fixes and upgrades are evaluated and rolled out, security issues are addressed, etc. All this is to the good. I must admit, I mutter a prayer for Mark Fletcher's health and safety on occasion. As far as I can see, groups.io is a one man operation, which explains a lot of its efficiency, attention to detail, and maybe some of its quirks. But single person products may not survive for long after that one person is run over by a truck or steps into an open manhole. For me, groups.io's quality far overrides this concern, but if I were doing an evaluation, I would have to point out this vulnerability. Best, Marv |

Am I interpreting it correctly when I think that the email was held up for
2 hours at my ISP before it was sent to groups.io?
If so, I have some real ammunition in my dealings with their tech
