My group is set to not accept attachments. I guess I would have to upload the screenshot to the files section and invite subscribers to go and look at it, which is not what I wanted to achieve.
I think I'll stick with the copy and paste solution Bruce suggests, but I think it would be helpful to have a "Share poll results with group" option. Maybe I'll try to ask for it on Beta.
?
Thanks everyone for the advice.

Re: Can't change members email address due to the fact that they're a moderator to a whole Nother group

The idea that groups.io runs on is they have an account which is an
email address. That account is a member of X number of groups. If an
account is changing its email address all the groups get that change
at that time. It is the account that is a member of a group. That's
the real key, we just see everybody as an email address.

Yes, because the email address is a property of the account, not a property
of one specific subscription.

I guess it would be better to subscribe the new address, and maybe
unsubscribe the old one.

Users do generally find that process easier to understand.

That's because the account (email address) is the top-level entity and the group subscriptions belong to the account.

What is the reason she is locked out for?? I'm not aware of any mail provider that does not provide a way to login if a password is forgotten for example.

Re: Can't change members email address due to the fact that they're a moderator to a whole Nother group

Yes, that's the issue! If she is already a mod to some group with the new address then she already has an account using that new address. You can't change address to one that already has it's own account. You need to either merge the two accounts (read the manual carefully first!) or subscribe the new address to all the groups concerned and unsubscribe the old address.

best, Malcolm.

But it might be.

She can see which groups she uses that email address for. She needs to log into your group or any group where she uses that email address. She just has to click on Your Groups in the menu and it will show all of them.

I don't see anything in the Help about not changing an email address for those who are mods in other groups. However the Help is waiting for an update. Others may have that info or more advice.

Can't change members email address due to the fact that they're a moderator to a whole Nother group

Hi guys, so earlier in August, I wrote you guys about changing an email address. I upgraded the premium, and proceeded to make the change tonight. Because I heard back from the member. But now I ran into another problem. And I think I'm just gonna go to Support with this one and hopefully he'll fix it. But don't know.

I want to change the email address, and it told me I couldn't change the email address because she was a moderator of another whole group. I'm hoping and praying that she remembers what group she was moderating, so that I can so that she can get those permissions temporally taken so that we can change the email addr or do you think this is possible?

What about a screenshot, and share that with the group?

When the poll is closed, are the results automatically sent to the group with a post?
The Owners Manual explains how to export the results in json or cvs format, but I didn't understand if there is a way to directly send the results to the group as a simple post.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Yes, but only in premium and enterprise groups. It's in the group-owners' manual.

For the same reason that when you launch a survey on any matter you share the results in a message adding some considerations for further discussion. Since the survey concerns a common issue, it would also seem unkind to me to simply say "go and look at the results yourself".

We've discussed this before, and I agree...up to a point. "Teach a man to fish" and all that...
?
If your message archive is Public, this can work well. Just send a link to the poll...click on that and there they are.
?
If your message archive is Private, everyone will be required to log in to view results, just as they have to do to vote. The number of folks who struggle with this never ceases to amaze me. How do these poor folks ever manage to pay their bills or do their banking?
?
Anyway, if you're going to have to send them instructions on how to go look, it seems no less easy to just tell them.

Bruce

No. To do that:
?
1) From within the poll, click View Results.
2) Swipe the bar graphs with your mouse and copy them to your clipboard.
3) Open a new message and paste it in.
?
You may find it necessary to tidy up the formatting.
