Tim,
Got a note on a group, where I am co-admin - which said go to myThe notice is probably moot now. There were service disruptions at Gmail on Monday and Tuesday that caused many hundreds of users' email addresses to be put on Bouncing status. Yesterday, after the dust settled, Groups.io reset the bouncing status on affected Gmail and Googlemail addresses. didn't find such but did find this in recent bounces - 12/14 from thisGMF was rather active both days, so a message from us would have been fairly likely to be the trigger for your address to be set to Bouncing status if your Gmail address was affected by the service disruption. On 12/15 one came in for one of the groups I do manage - but best II'm not sure what you mean. "One" what came in? If you get a notice that your account is bouncing then it is your address, not anyone else's, that is affected. What gives?/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/additional-information/groups-io-bounce-handling In the parlance of that page, the Gmail service disruption was causing "Hard" bounces, such that the first instance would immediately put the member's account into "Bouncing" status (Step 2). Re: Odd message
Tim, it is not a groups.io issue, apparently Google/gmail was/is having issues.
If you have a gmail account, you may get these bouncing messages. I got two myself today,
and had to 'unbounce' on the site 3 times!

all right...I gave in and copied and pasted the names into the Direct Add box and added them that way.? Duplicates were ignored.? So I'm not sure why my bulk add didn't work but at least now I'm where I need to be. On Wed, Dec 16, 2020 at 8:07 PM Jane Patterson via <seejanebird=[email protected]> wrote:

This evening I don't find a message in this group with that and better yet I'm not even sure why I got such a bounce. On 12/15 one came in for one of the groups I do manage - but best I can tell it doesn't show an email address that may have bounced? What gives? Tim Stowell |

Also, if I add them manually now and the Batch list is sitting out there in limbo somewhere waiting to be processed (???) what happens when it encounters duplicates?? I¡¯m aware of the formatting rules. My upload failed the first time due to a formatting issue. I corrected it and I received the message that it was successful. But they are not in the members list.? I have about 500 members to add. So it¡¯s not huge but I would assume I¡¯d have to cut the group into batches?? I am logged in as Owner with the correct email.
I can see other members that I added one at a time, but none added via the bulk upload via Direct Add with a text file.? I was able to add a single member with Direct Add.?
Nothing?relative to the bulk upload is indicated in the Activity.
In the instructions, it says "The remaining additions usually are processed within a few hours."? ?It has now been about 3 hours.? Am I just being impatient??

For what it is worth, Google has been realigning things so they can start charging for some services. For example where unlimited storage was to be always free, now they will start charging over a certain limit. They will either charge or get rid of things like Google docs and other special programs. I wonder if they are doing a lot of programming to make those changes and it is screwing up the mail?? Janet |
Re: BOUNCING
David,
Gmail is owned by Google so the outage affected Gmail same time asMy point was that the first three of the four reported Gmail disruptions (including the general Google outage) occurred before Yahoo made any changes. Hover over the dots to see the reported time span of each disruption. I think that is very strong evidence against any connection between the Gmail outages and events at Yahoo.
