Also, like Frances said, it does takes a bit for the change to become effective; but you can check if it's done by trying to go to your homepage URL, i.e. http://groups.io/g/<whatever-name-you-use>; if the change propagated and is effective, you'll get the home page, if not, you'll get a "group doesn't exist" error.. I saw no answer to this question, so I will ask it again, in October, 2020.
Can I pay for multiple years.? We asked for donations in my 2 groups and we got enoguh to pay for a second year so I would like to add a year.? Can I do that?? And if yes, How?? (So I don't foul the bookkeeping of groups.io.) Thank you, Joe Wolfe |

Re: changing a group's name
Okay, right now on the settings page, it shows Breast Cancer Group2 in the title space and BreastCancer2Group in the email space. ?At the time the group was created, it was more or less a sister group to the same group on Yahoo Groups.?
?
I am not an owner of the Yahoo Group. ?I am the one who created the groups.io group because the Yahoo group owner had problems getting a group started on groups.io. ?

The name that we want to change the group to is?Breast Cancer Sisters Soulmates for Life. ?I entered this into the Group Title space, then entered it in the Group Email space and took out the spaces. Then clicked the update group button. ?

Duane, you wrote that we are following the correct procedure to get the group name changed. ?Should we keep trying until it sticks? ?Is there a limit to how many times we can try to change the name? ?

Re: changing a group's name
It used to not work to use freecycle in the name. But was changed yesterday and now you can. Last night I changed one of my groups to now have freecycle in the name Marilyn On Thu, Oct 22, 2020, 10:20 AM Duane <txpigeon@...> wrote: On Thu, Oct 22, 2020 at 09:15 AM, Donna wrote: |

changing a group's name
I believe it is possible to change the name of a group. ?When I go to the admin tab and click on settings, I can see the spaces for the group title and email address. ?When I enter the new title and email address and click on update group at the bottom, I get a message saying it's invalid. ?I am co-owner of the group. ?The other owner tried to do the name change and got the invalid message, then asked me to try.

I'm really confused on the premium topic.Looking at your home page, you have email entries dating from 2011. This suggests you paid for Premium last year and did the Yahoo migration. You can confirm this by pulling down the Admin menu on the left-side menuy bar. If there is a "Billing" section below that, you're still on Premium. If it says "Upgrade" instead, you've been downgraded to Basic. 2.? Believe it is prime and decided if so want to keep itIf you're on the legacy Premium plan, this should cost you another $110. If you went to Premium after 10/22/2019 (i.e.: you're not on the legacy plan), it will be $220. 3.? How do I update my credit card infoIt's at?/account?page=billing? ? If your card info is up to date -- and you didn't purposely downgrade your group -- you should remain at Premium and be automatically billed for another year. You should have received an email to this effect two weeks prior to your expiration date. Did you? Hope this helps, Bruce Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |
