Re: two different email addresses link to one account
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý
If all else fails, you can set up a home computer with the software Thunderbird, and program it to forward messages from the group to your phone. It can be done, I have done it, it works. I have Mediacom for an internet service provider. I have Thunderbird programmed to go to Mediacom every 60 seconds to check for incoming email. It downloads the email messages to my computer. I have filters on my incoming email that sorts it and puts it into whichever folder is appropriate. I also have a filter that says, that if a message comes from one certain address, (the address of a group) to forward it to another address, which is the email address of my phone. Notice I said? "email address of my phone" not to my phone number like a text message. Every phone has an email address, you might have to contact your phone carrier to get it, but your phone has one. Works slick as can be. Only disadvantage for me is having to leave a computer on at home all the time. Small price to pay.

You could make an alias.?
You can also create two accounts. Your email address is an account. See for details. /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/How-to-Set-a-Personal-Password-and-Profile%3B-Changing-Email-Address Frances -- /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki /static/help More help: use the search button at the top of the Messages list. |

Ron, You could just sign up "twice" with the different addresses. However, you could just use one email address and access it from different devices. For example, I access my Gmail account on my PC, cellphone and a tablet. ? -- Gerald |

Chats remain until they're deleted.? We've got a test chat that's been open since October of last year, right after chats were implemented.? You can also close a chat, but not delete it.? You can scroll back to see anything that's been posted.
There's not a direct search function, but I used the search in my browser and could find words included in the chat. Duane -- Help: /static/help GMF's Wiki: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Search button at the top of Messages list A few site FAQs: /static/pricing#frequently-asked-questions |

Same here.? It may be something that Mark is working on or it may be an intended change.? Probably best to ask [email protected] to be sure.

Date / Time stamp on posts . . .
#date-time-display
Up until earlier today I was able to see the dates of all the posts or the time of the post if it was made on the current day. That info was visible in the lowest line of the starting post of each topic as displayed while posts are set to 'Topics'. Now the dates and times are not showing up for me on any of my groups, only the poster's display name.
Have I inadvertently maybe changed a setting? I don't recall trying to do anything with settings today. Or has there been some update to Groups.io today which would affect the display of that last line of each post in Topics display? BTW, if I change the display mode from Topics to Messages then the day/time stamp of the posts shows up. I prefer to keep posts set to display 'Topics' since that makes it quick and easy to check which are the newest posts that way. Suggestions... Explanations? Paul M. === |

My email address:?
cricket654me@...?works just fine for emails but is not listed as having an acct in io. ?The ONLY address I seem to have in io is this one that¡¯s I¡¯m sending from. ? ?
?
Yes, I tried cricket654me@...?as it is one of the 11 email addresses I have for various things (dogs, groups, personal, family, close friends, acquaintances, etc).
I have also tried posting to my group ([email protected]) as well. ?It does not reach me or anyone else in the group. ?
I will cont?t support and pray this is all resolved.
Thank you for trying to help me out.

Using the Chat function within groups.io may solve another issue my community has been struggling with, however I need answers to the following 2 questions-
Are Chat sessions persistent? Is the history preserved such that someone joining can scroll back to read messages before they joined? Also, are the chat sessions searchable? If so can someone please provide me with a pointer on how-to? Any insight appreciated. Thanks.? -- Kenny Paul, Technical Program?Manager for Pacific Time Zone |
Thanks for the advice!
Did just that and here it is: "DTSTART:20181220" is not the right date (see screenshot below). Interestingly, "DTEND:20190101" is correct although in iCal the entry ends a day earlier... DTSTART:20181220

This will be a simplistic explanation of what Spamhaus is, but I was told it's a bot type program designed to look for Spammers. It looks for large amounts of emails sent by an entity, and some how makes a determination the entity is a Spammer, then black lists that entity. At least, that's how I understand it.Don, That's basically it, but Spamhaus isn't triggered by a "large amount of email." They maintain many spam trap addresses located on servers all over the world. Since those addresses are unpublished and have never been used or divulged to anyone, no one has any reason to be sending mail to them. So when they do receive mail it tends to be spam. Enough mail from a single IP and that mail gets a manual review and if found to be spam (almost always) the responsible IP gets listed. Along with that listing is a description of the spammer involved (and other info), if it can be determined. Thinking back on things that I have done on my group, I have one idea of what may have caused this problem. I built up a list of people that I have invited over a period of time (All past members of the group at one time), and it had maybe 40 to 50 people on it. About one a month I would use that list of saved invites, and re-invite them again in mass. This may have made me look like a Spammer. What you describe above - which I read as repeatedly reinviting the same past members who didn't accept your invitation to rejoin previously - is definitely spam. I couldn't guess how likely it is to have gotten you black listed... except to say that your IP (68.7.123.231) doesn't appear in any of the common and reputable black lists. As for continuing that practice... by failing to respond those past members are telling you "no" and as in certain other aspects of our lives, "No means no!" You need to contact Cox to try to resolve your problem. It's going to require contact with someone higher than the initial support level. You may find the following helpful. One other thing you can try if you think your IP really is listed is to unplug your modem overnight. That should result in a new dynamic IP when you plug it up the next morning. Some unlucky soul will eventually get your old IP, so if this works you really ought to call Cox and report the problem you had with that IP so they can fix it. Good luck. Jim H |

Kenny,
?
That is what make me wonder if the email is looking at a recipient's profile settings when the invite goes out. ?
Yes, the outbound event reminders & notifications are written with respect to the member's timezone (Account Preferences).

From what I'm hearing the invitations are correct if someone actually clicks on the .ics.
