Re: Font on my laptop is tiny all of a sudden???

Bob
Holding the Ctrl key while scrolling the mouse wheel will change the zoom.?
It unintentionally "happens to me" all the time.
You should see a spyglass in the URL bar if the tab is zoomed + or - of your default setting.? Clicking it?lets you reset to the default zoom.

Re: Font on my laptop is tiny all of a sudden???

Thanks!? You fixed it!!!!? I did not know that you can change zoom settings for each tab in Chrome. Perhaps I smacked the wrong key at some point.

Re: Font on my laptop is tiny all of a sudden???

It does not happen if I use Edge.? or Duck Duck Go.? It happens to me only in Chrome.? And it happened to ALL of my groups at the same time.

Re: Font on my laptop is tiny all of a sudden???

It is for groups. io only.? All groups - I am in five or six.

Re: Font on my laptop is tiny all of a sudden???

I have?the same?problem with one of my groups, but I have been assuming it's a gmail issue.

Does anyone else in your group have the problem, and are those who do gmail users?

Zoom settings are specific for the URL (at least it's that way in Chrome). Given that different groups have a different URL, they may also have a different zoom.

Be sure to change the zoom setting for each of your groups, especially if you access them via a browser bookmark.

Hope this helps,

Is this for groups.io specifically, or every site? Is it in your browser only, or everything on your desktop?

Try changing your zoom setting (Ctrl +), or Ctrl-0 will generally set it to 100%.

Am I correct that a member in a hard bounce state (red "B") cannot post messages to the group?

Pete -- As others have said, this is hard to test, because it's hard to create the problem. My recollection, however, is that such accounts cannot post.

This makes sense given that bouncing accounts also do not count against your group (within the groups.io pricing structure). An extensive check of your activity log could confirm or refute this.?

Keep in mind that a bouncing member can log into their account and unbounce by clicking on the red banner warning. They can then proceed to immediately resume posting from the web site even if their email address still isn't accepting groups.io email.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

As Bouncing is related to email delivery, I don't see why a member could not post by email as well but I haven't tested it.

I'd tend to also agree that they would be able to send messages in, they just won't receive them.? However I'm not sure if we could test it, easily anyway. I wonder how one can induce a test address to go to red bounce, and if so, how long it would take, after all there's a certain existing condition (a bug more-or-less), where invalid addresses do not go to red bounce as they should if the messages sent to them are very few and far in between, see my question no.4 and Mark's reply right below it.

Christos

Well, lemme see...that was more than two months ago...

My previous suggestion stands:? If the problem persists, make sure they're actual files and not links to some other storage location that has since gone dead or requires some kind of authentication. Such "files" have a different icon and File Type (see appended screenshot).

Failing that, a screenshot of exactly what you're seeing would aid us in troubleshooting.

Hope this helps,

Are they perhaps also status ¡°Bounce (red B after the name) and not receiving emails from the gio system but do when they are sent from your email account?

The only way that you, yourself, can revalidate member addresses is if you had their passwords and signed into their accounts (web or mobile app) for them.?

I¡¯ve posted three messages ¡°DO NOT EMAIL ME TO ¡°Keep me on the list.¡± ?I cannot do anything about this, you MUST log into your account to revalidate the address¡±. ?IN BOLD, repeated twice. ?This week I got two ¡°Keep me on the list.¡± ? Yah can¡¯t fix dumb.?

In the Member's Manual it states that a member can login and read/post messages from there when their account is bouncing.? As Bouncing is related to email delivery, I don't see why a member could not post by email as well but I haven't tested it.

Re: Why are members getting a confirm email message

In addition, I would check (how?) to be sure the message isn't a phishing attack.? Saying it appears to be not connected to the January event suggests additional caution.? With the overall RI issue being well known, it makes for a tempting target for attack.

First of all, I am quite sure it is related to the reverification requirement.?
If you go to Admin, Members, and use the filters, you will see how many in your group must reverify their Groups.io account. I bet very few of your members must do it.

My suggestion - temporarily put everyone on Moderate if your group is unmoderated.
Have your list of those that do.
Prepare a message in Admin, Settings, Member Notices, Reject Notice, to prepare a message to send to the person when rejecting the message, ?saying that they do not need to reverify.
/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-member-notices/rejected-message-notice?single=true

Also if they are one of those that must, suggest they log into the group and that will reverify their account.

You can also send a message to all members. I thanked them for signalling that they wanted to stay with the group. However that doesn't reverify them. They must log in so that the Groups.io software knows!?

When the traffic dies down, go back to your usual unmoderated (or stay moderated).
