Re: Private to Public Group
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI would also suggest renaming the old group and then creating the new group *before* you think about deleting the old one. You may need to announce the move to all your members a couple times before it's all said and done.

Re: Private to Public Group
When you refer to "Private" and "Public" are you referring to the visibility of your Message Archive or to the? visibility (or otherwise) of your group in Publicly Listed Groups?
If the former then Duane's answer is the right one... Chris |

Private to Public Group
I recently created a new group as a Private group and I am now discovering the limitations and would like my group to be Public.
What is the best way to do this?? I realize that I cannot edit the group to do this.? Do I need to delete the group and re-create it?? ? If I delete the group, will groups.io let me re-create the group with the same name? |

Re: how long it takes to UNBOUNCE ?
My understanding is some of the behaviors that require a true human response is part of the legislated rules
to make groups.io a valid email list server as opposed to a bot powered spam list. That's why to join the user has to acknowledge they want to be on the list and some other details. Most of that came from the EU as I understand it but most other countries followed it. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.com www.syracusemodelrr.org |

In lieu of responding to the emailed bounce probe, they can click on the red banner that appears when they log in. The bounce probe provides a means to unbounce their accounts by email, without having to log in. As to what you can do:? You can contact them ahead of time, let them know that a bounce probe is coming, and what they need to do to respond to it. Of course, all of this assumes that you might actually have any more success emailing these people than groups.io has been experiencing. This may not be as satisfactory as sending the probe in French, but it's certainly better than doing nothing. Regards, Bruce Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |

If you want a real answer you'll have to ask Mark in the beta group. Better yet, post your counter-proposal as a suggestion. Re: how long it takes to UNBOUNCE ?
hello, let me add some inputs about this BOUNCE question
first, the "bounced" guy receive a message (banner) in english, most of them do not really underststand ! question : is there a "banner editor" to put this message in French ? and it is clear that most of them have no idea on their userID and Password to be logged on Group IO !! hi .... I come from the owner manual and I see .. The affected members are notified that they are Bouncing or Bounced. They are given a chance to ¡°unbounce¡± their accounts through a banner that is displayed at the top of the Groups.io site whenever they are logged in. ! Important:?Group owners and moderators cannot do anything to ¡°unbounce¡± members¡¯ accounts. Members must address the underlying problem themselves. |

RA| I don't understand why the user | has to click on something for | the "Unbounce" to work Du| Because that's the way Mark programmed it. Right. But I still don't understand why. Du| Besides, it's the member's email | service that's causing the problem, | so unless they get something changed | on their end, they'll go back to | bouncing. Right. But still, the simple fact that I, the user, click on a link or not, has nothing to do with my email service having "fixed" something or not... So, this is hardly an argument. Re: how long it takes to UNBOUNCE ?

I don't understand why the user has to click on something for the "Unbounce" to work... There should be a way for the Group Owner himself unbounce the user, p.e. just by the act of sending the probe and it return "message delivered without errors". (at least for the first attempt made by the owner, per user). If the user wants to leave the group, use the option to leave instead. [ ] Rubens . |
