Some have used PG Offline to archive their group then export the messages to many HTML files, then paste them into one continuous big PDG file and upload that to the files section. There is the $220 transfer you can pay for if you need them in the messages section instead of in a large PDF file. It is probably set up this way so you have to depend on the GIO transfer service, which is now not only being charged for, but that charge was doubled overnight sometime last week with almost no notice. Right now I don't know of an existing method to put the messages in the new group from the old. Re: Transferring Yahoo group after October 28
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have now migrated all my member's emails to the new group and invited them to join. That's all working fine. I also uploaded my photos and files. My final hurdle is getting the messages (conversations) into my groups.io group.There are over 3000 posts, and the download from Yahoo consists of two large mbox format files, where all the messages, with addresses, headers, etc. are all sequentially displayed with about 1500 messages in each single mbox message. I clearly need to have a way to parse these and reformat the output to match groups.io. I was able to extract the email address using a similar technique, but it was far simpler, and I don't know exactly what groups.io needs. Editing Date / Time Stamps On Messages
#date
#email
#post-transfer
Afternoon All,
Is there any functionality to edit the date value on messages in the archive. To correct corrupted values (in my case that came across from Yahoo - and probably originally caused by date format errors from the original sender at the time)? Example below - the 1997 messages (pre-Yahoo Groups even existing) were actually emailed in 2003 - and were showing like this at Yahoo as well: ?? Many TIA, John |

I have followed all directions. I received the letter stating that they had approved invite to my group.
?
I keep checking to see if [email protected] has really joined my group - so far after more than 2 days, nothing.? Does this take time too?? Or have I fallen through the cracks?
?
I don't know who else to contact to let them know that I received?the notice, but no [email protected] is in my list.

I just reinstated using Amazon SES for email sending. This is normally a much better way of sending emails as they handle all the problems with bouncing emails and negative reputation. With thousands of members, you always get someone who complains to their ISP despite double opt-in, when they could simply unsubscribe. The Rife Forum <0102016e2e76af3b-01d11867-1f83-492b-8275-2d55afc19059-000000@...> It should look like this:?The Rife Forum <admin@...> The relevant part of the email header looks like this: To: Rifeforum via Email Integration <[email protected]> From: "The Rife Forum" <admin@...> Auto-Submitted: auto-generated Message-ID: <0102016e2e76af3b-01d11867-1f83-492b-8275-2d55afc19059-000000@...>

You call them tabs- I only see buttons. Big difference.
OP- Go to Admin/? Invites, select the second button Sent Invitations, which displays the result of all- Sent- Accepted- Bounced/ Rejected etc. Lets not over complicate an interface that has to be sued by thousands of admins, both technical and non-technical. dave? |
Links Transferred From Yahoo

My links transferred over from yahoo?and are placed in the Database section. Is this the best option? Playing with it. It?looks ok but takes some?getting used to. I have seen some on here mention that?wiki is the best option for links. I cant seem to get that figured out. Does a step by step (with screen shots) exist for setting up links on Wiki? Re: Two problems with emails being sent by our group
Harvey,
*From:*Nancy ... via Groups.Io <nancy...@...As Duane said, this form is used when the sending service (me.com in this case) demands that email lists do this. Occasionally, members report emails arriving out of order -- notSome email services use Greylisting as an anti-spam measure. They really shouldn't apply that technique against an email list once they've seen messages from it before. The problem with this technique is that it rejects the message the first time it is sent, and relies on Groups.io's server to re-try. That introduces an arbitrary delay in the receipt of that message. You can also check the Email Delivery History tab of the affected member's page in the Members list to see if there are any clues there about message delivery to that member. Re: Emails from my vBulletin Forum not appearing
#bouncedemails
#email
Thanks for all the replies.
I have been doing a lot of testing with various parameters. The only thing which gets through is the vBulletin diagnostics test email - that gets through every time.
?
I have setup the forum so that these emails are sent both to groups.io and one of my other email addresses. The messages never show up on groups but always appear in the inbox of my other account - so the forum is definitely sending the emails.
?
None of the missing emails are listed on the activity log, just the diagnostic emails that went through. I am not receiving any bounces from groups.io either.
All the emails being sent to the group use the correct email address registered with it.?
?
Nothing I did could get the system to accept the incoming emails the normal way. I then tried the integration emails and that worked first time.?
?
I looked at the email headers for the same incoming email in comparison with Yahoogroups and group.io and one thing stood out:
?
With the email sent to Yahoogroups, dkim passed as usual
?
Authentication-Results: mta4002.groups.mail.bf1.yahoo.com;
dkim=pass (ok) header.i=@... header.s=default;
?
When I looked at the header of the incoming email on groups.io, the dkim failed!!!
?
?Authentication-Results: mx.groups.io;
?dkim=fail reason="body hash did not verify"?
?
As the body hash was the same for both emails, could it be there is a problem with the way dkim is being checked at groups.io?
?
Is this perhaps the reason my normal emails are being sucked into a black hole?
?
Anyway, I will do some more checks and use email integration. It actually has an advantage as I can set different hash values for each section of my forum.
?

Re: Emails from my vBulletin Forum not appearing

Peter,
Strangely, the emails are not arriving on groups.io from the forum.As Duane said, check the group's Activity log to see if there's any indication of those messages being received and rejected. If there is no log entry at all I think that could only mean that the email was sent to the wrong address. I have not received a bounced email, either.That was the other thing I would have suggested checking, but I wasn't sure if vBulletin would give a means of viewing rejections. Alternatives: Check the "Allow Non Subscribers to Post" box in the Message Policies section of your group settings. But that would hold each of these messages your group's Pending folder. Or, as Bob suggested, use an email integration - that's actually the designed means to accomplish what you're trying to do. Erika -- Your transfer is proceeding, but is not being expedited. You have probably seen many people here in GMF talk about how there are 800 or 900 groups ahead of them in the transfer queue. Waiting for every one them to be processed before groups.io gets around to importing your group could take a month or more. If you want to jump to the head of the line, it will cost you another $200. That's what the button is for. Regards, Bruce |
