Mendy - You can resend the confirmation email using the instructions found here:?/g/GroupManagersForum/message/16640? Or if you have a Premium group, you can Direct Add her, bypassing the confirmation process. It's pretty much identical to sending an invitation; go to Admin>Direct Add and follow the instructions.

The setting you want is in the Notifications section, "Email when there are members needing approval."

Is this feature avaialbe and if so, how do I change the settings to enable it.?
Click on Subscription on the left-side menu bar and check the corresponding box. Be sure to save your changes.

Re: Transferring recent messages which missed the automatic move window.

Copy and Paste from one board to the other.
I have been copying messages from one of my small groups manually from the Yahoo message board.? Then I paste them to my new Groups.io message board.? They get sent out to the group again, so I only choose those that have enough value for future use to move.

I get to add tags here. Something not possible st Yahoo.

Re: Unable to post to my group

There is no space,? the address is correct

Re: Bump updated messages to top #messages

Note that on the Group website under Messages, the first pull-down tab allows the choice of Topics or Messages. If this is set to Topics, new messages to old Topics would not necessarily be at the top of all the messages. If set to Messages, new messages will be at the top of the messages.

If users don't realize this, it can be confusing. The tab choice is there but if you don't know to look in the pull-down...

I would have to open every thread and check to see whether any new message had arrived.? That is not practical.
Suggestion: Do what Google mail does: When a new message is added to a thread, mark the thread unread and sort the list by when the most recent message was added to each thread.

Disagree.? I have no other Yahoo accounts and no other Yahoo groups for which I am owner/moderator.? But I still get the "User does not want to be invited¡± on the [email protected] invitation request.

Yes, as I stated above, I started the transfer process with the tool in groups.io.

It's caused by a setting on the invitee's account at Yahoo. I just did some tests using a list I own at Yahoo:

1. Sent an invitation to one of my other email addresses. This arrived almost immediately - see first attached image.

2. I wondered what the link "change your email preferences to stop receiving group invitations in the future..." would do, so I clicked on it. Surprisingly, this took me to a screen at Yahoo which told me that the address had "successfully unsubscribed from the Invites Email." No confirmation! See attachment 2.

3. I then sent another invitation to the same email address and got the "User does not want to be invited" message at Yahoo.

4. So I found the Email Preferences screen at Yahoo, and it showed that "Allow Invitations" was set to "No". See attachment 3.

5. I edited the line for that email and changed that option to "Yes".

I was then able to send a new invite.

So I'm assuming that Mark has an account at Yahoo for which [email protected] is one of the members, and this has somehow had its Allow Invitations setting changed.

That's been the procedure for quite awhile (the invite is ignored, not rejected), but would have nothing to do with the Yahoo end of it.

Having the same problem here. I have two groups that need to be transferred (possibly a third, too).

I wonder if the tool at groups.io is now verifying a valid transfer has
started. If not, reject the invite. That would make sense.

Adam, have you started the transfer within the group at groups.io?

Re: #transfer User does not want to be invited #transfer

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

All,

I'm beginning to wonder if Yahoo has vastly underestimated the task of transferring data off their site to elsewhere and the strong desire for people to do that. It seems
their systems are completely overloaded. It is now taking >12 hours for an approved post to appear on a group site.

Given the overload and the Yahoo deadline for file deletion, I wonder if it might be appropriate for a group of Yahoo Group users to file a complaint to get a Temporary
Restraining Order to prevent Yahoo from deleting the files in mid-December? Yahoo has been unresponsive to prior complaints.

Are there any lawyers reading this who might hazard an opinion?

Re: Invites vs Applying to Join

On Mon, Oct 28, 2019 at 07:37 PM, Linda Liao wrote:
?I was surprised that it doesn't automatically recognize their email as an invited member.
At some point, groups.io has to send every address associated with a new account an email to confirm that the person who provided it actually owns that address and wants to receive group messages there. The invitation serves that purpose...clicking on a "Join This Group" button? Only if they already have a groups.io account (i.e.: they've already gone through all that) and happen to be logged in.

So while it may seem on the surface that groups.io ought to recognize the address, pair things up, and just let 'em in...there's quite a bit more to it than that.

Hope this helps,
Bruce
