Re: Using BCC to Moderators

I depend on BCC: All Moderators heavily and have been assuming that it reaches all of them!Same here, apart from the "heavily" bit. The usual reason is a message rejection. I don't know if it is "standard" or an Owner - settable function but on the Group I moderate I and the other Moderator get copies of all traffic sent to the Group Owner. When rejecting a message (or whatever) I never check Bcc Me and always check Bcc Moderators. When sending such a message I am acting for and on behalf of the Group Owner so I always send from the "Group "Owner" option. As I always get a copy of my message back on my own email address I tend to assume that the others received it as well, but I will confirm next time I have to do it. It would be odd if it picked my address out to send to and didn't get the others as well. Chris |

You might be able to see that it has in the group itself, but if Yahoo is having their usual server problems... The "integrations" line on your home page is for RSS feeds, linking with Facebook, etc (see Admin->Integrations). It has no bearing on the transfer process. Thoughts? I tried this last night and again this morning. I know, I know, patience is a virtue, lol. For some reason - a delay - the email looks fine now. Footers and URL in the body are all hyperlinked. |

Editing message problem
#issue
A group member sent a message with an incomplete URL. I had received the message through my mail.
I went to my group home and edited the message and fixed the URL. Then saved it. I had second thoughts and decided to go back and edit the message - actually just changed the reason for the change - and chose the other option: save and send it to the group members. When I received the revised message in my email, the URL was not hyperlinked. And oddly, neither were the footers. Any explanation? Expected behaviour? Frances |

WHAT?????? now????Are you sure you are logged in, at either Yahoo or here? Try logging out and logging back in again. Did groups.io email you a summary? It should have told you how many members, messages, etc were transferred along with a list of those that it wasn't able to move. If you haven't received this transfer summary then the move is probably still underway. Another possibility is that Yahoo itself had a massive system crash that lost all that information before the transfer agent even got there. In that case it's not surprising that nothing got moved. Based on your description of the symptoms, this seems like the most plausible explanation. I am assuming here that you made the transfer agent a Moderator (NOT an Owner), and with view-only permissions (per the transfer instructions). With those permissions it is not possible for the agent to delete your Yahoo group content.? If I were you, I would contact Yahoo and ask them where your group went. If they can restore it from a backup you should be able to submit your request to the transfer agent again. Just some ideas, Bruce |

Re: Using BCC to Moderators
I'm sorry! I'm wondering if no one here has had that problem here before or if they are trying to figure it out? Are you doing a BCC directly from the group or from your own email program? I'm having the same problem at Yahoo groups. But I'm using a Yahoo email address and Incredimail. I don't know if it's Incredimail or another Yahoo issue. Whenever I BCC someone at the groups, like send an email to my main group and BCC several other groups, I get mailer daemon notices and my mail may or may not get to the ones I sent with BCC. Sometimes my mail will get to them and not my main group, so I have to resend to my main group. It's been one of the things at Yahoo that has been driving me nuts! This is the first I have heard anyone mention this, so I wonder if it might be the same or similar issue?

Re: A whole week?
Thanks so much! Last night on Yahoo I started getting mailer daemon notices again. This morning I had a few emails from groups, but hardly any compared to what I usually have this time of the morning.including no emails from the boards here, so I started getting suspicious that maybe something was being blocked, so came here to check for posts and replies, and found your reply. (By the way, I am learning so much from others here! Thank you! )? In the directions for transferring it says; Step 2.? "Send an invite to your Yahoo Group to? [email protected]" I did that.Step 3." We will accept the invite and then send you an email directing you to make the? [email protected] ?member a moderator."It has accepted the invite but I got no notice from the group at Yahoo, which is strange and no email yet, directing me to make him a moderator. I made him a moderator anyway, just for something to do while waiting, but don't know what the moderator settings should be so am still waiting for that email. I don't want to mess this up, so will just wait I guess. I just hope Yahoo is not blocking it. I don't trust them. I know that if there is a mass Exodus from Yahoo this could take awhile. I wish I had done this before. -- Marie Alline |

Re: I am ALONE HELP! [after transfer from YahooGroups]
dash,
I moved my genealogy group.? I got notice it was moved.? I went to the members section and I am the only one that was moved.? I have NO pictures, NO files, nothing.? Are you sure you targeted the correct Groups.io group? Another member of GMF reported that his transfer went to the wrong Groups.io group. I suspect user error, but maybe there's something more to it than that. Have a look at other Groups.io group which you own and see if the content landed in the wrong group. ? I went back to Yahoo and my group is gone......all the hundreds of pictures I worked hours and hours and hours are gone, as are all my contacts.? I don't know what to tell you about the Yahoo Group. The transfer agent makes no changes to your Yahoo Group, so maybe that's just a glitch on Yahoo's end and your content will reappear. Or maybe you're signed out of Yahoo, or signed in with the wrong account? Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

Re: I am ALONE HELP! [after transfer from YahooGroups]
Southenders Admin
Having moved my group successfully about 3 weeks ago, I can tell you that nothing at my old site is gone. I did have to resubmit the transfer because some photos didn't make it, but they were transferred on the second go around.
Good luck, but from my experience, I would say it will work out. -- Norm |

Re: Using BCC to Moderators
Bruce,
I thought that the "BCC Moderators" checkbox (when sending a message from the Member Notices page) sent a copy of your note to all Moderators regardless of these settings. That's what it says, right? However, I just made my test account a Moderator and tried it...and it didn't work. I set up the same test account to receive all +owner emails and that didn't work, either. I even made that account an Owner, and it?still?didn't work. This sounds like a serious bug that should be reported to [email protected] --? I depend on BCC: All Moderators heavily and have been assuming that it reaches all of them! It is notoriously easy to fool yourself when testing email functions, but this one sounds pretty clear cut.My backup address in GMF was set to "None" for receiving +owner emails, so I hadn't really thought about the fact that it hasn't been getting those BCCs. But come to think of it, I don't think that selection ought to control BCCs created through the web UI, or other system messages to +owner. Or maybe "system only" needs to be a fourth choice there. Re: Help please......
Hi Becky,
When you click on "Members" on the left, it will open to the Pending members list, that is why you see only one member. In the row of buttons above the list it will show "Pending Approval." If you click on this button, a dropdown will open and you can select "Members" to see a complete list.
If the "Pending" on the left has a number, it is showing that you have a message waiting for approval, it always has a check-mark. Click on Pending and it will open to the Pending Message list. Paul, Ohio, USA
