photos in emails being resized to 640x640 even though 1024x1024 is selected
#bug
Under my groups settings, "Photos", "Max Size In Email" is set to "Resized to a max of 1024x1024".? However, when I send photos they are resized to 640px max.? This is not happening to other group members, their photos are being resized to 1024px.? I am sure the resizing is not happening in my end, as I forwarded the exact email that I sent to the group to a private account, and there the photos were not resized.? I am a group owner, in case that matters.? This has happened to me twice. The photo size has been set to 1024px for ~2 months, and has not been reset.? None of the other photo size options (database, wiki) are set to 640px.? Is this a bug, or something silly on my part?? Apologies if it's something silly.

Okay. I got that. When they do that, then apparently they will see the "Your Groups" drop-down menu on the upper left side of their browser and will be able to click on my group name?

Marie, Now I need to know, do my members just login to with their Yahoo id and password, ...
No, they do not use their Yahoo ID or password. The transfer agent did not have access to any of their Yahoo account information, just the info in your Y!Group's Manage Members list.
?
or will they need to create a new one for IO groups?
? As Bruce said, they'll only need to log in to Groups.io if they want to access the web features. Files, Photos, etc. For just reading and posting by email there's nothing they need to do.However if they do want to log in to Groups.io, their "ID" is their email address - the one in your group's Members list. Then follow the instructions to create a password or to log in without one.

Creating a Subgroup Changes the Email Address of the Main Group?
#subgroups
#changing
Just checking one aspect of the documentation on the effect of creating a subgroup:? will the previous address of [email protected]?not function any longer for posting messages to the MainGroup and instead, one must address posts to [email protected]?-- or will both of these email addresses still work??

Re: I am ALONE HELP! [after transfer from YahooGroups]
I moved 3 groups and they are ALL LIKE THIS.. I am only member and nothing else transferred.? NOTHING. ? I have one group that was moved some time ago and was ok.... now I lost 2 genealogy groups and a group I had for many years.? I am so upset. dash ? ? Are you sure you targeted the correct Groups.io group? Another member of GMF reported that his transfer went to the wrong Groups.io group. I suspect user error, but maybe there's something more to it than that. Have a look at other Groups.io group which you own and see if the content landed in the wrong group. ?
? I don't know what to tell you about the Yahoo Group. The transfer agent makes no changes to your Yahoo Group, so maybe that's just a glitch on Yahoo's end and your content will reappear. Or maybe you're signed out of Yahoo, or signed in with the wrong account? Shal

I got a very nice notice this afternoon that my transfer was done successfully! Whew! What a relief! I didn't know what to expect, so I was worried. Now I need to know, do my members just login to groups.io with their Yahoo id and password, or will they need to create a new one for IO groups?
Thanks for any help on this, -- Marie Alline |

Re: Using BCC to Moderators
I got a message back from one of my Moderators and he said he hasn't received any of my test messages.
And just to be clear...what I was testing was BCC: All Moderators during the sending of a Member Notice. My groups have restricted membership and posts are never moderated, so I have not tested the same functionality in that context. I can't speak to what Yvette might have been doing at the time she first reported this. Very intrigued on this end as to what others will discover. Bruce |

Cannot create subgroup
#subgroups
I brought a few yahoogroups to groups.io last month and that is working well, including several subgroups.
I'm now working on setting up a new move with another yahoogroup.? After I setup the group, I went to create subgroup. When I hit add, a subgroup is not created.? I've refreshed.? Logged out and back in.? Does there need to be more members than just me on the main group before setting up subs? Thanks so much, Tammi |

Timing of calendar notices
In my group, calendar notices are sent when an event is listed in the calendar.? Is there a way to control WHEN the message is sent?? For a 7 PM event, reminders arrived at 7:30 PM.? Is there a way to have them sent earlier in the day?? A reminder after the event begins isn't very useful.? I can't seem to be able to locate setting for controlling the calendar.

Add an RSVP
You know you always have people who don't follow instructions... Recently I add an event to our group's calendar with an RSVP on it. A couple people RSVP'd appropriately...but then you have those knuckleheads who couldn't follow directions with a bloodhound, and either called or texted me or verbally responded that they are coming to the event.? Is there a way that a list owner or moderator can add RSVPs manually?? ? Kevin Conod kdconod@... |

I depend on BCC: All Moderators heavily and have been assuming that it reaches all of them!Same here, apart from the "heavily" bit. The usual reason is a message rejection. I don't know if it is "standard" or an Owner - settable function but on the Group I moderate I and the other Moderator get copies of all traffic sent to the Group Owner. When rejecting a message (or whatever) I never check Bcc Me and always check Bcc Moderators. When sending such a message I am acting for and on behalf of the Group Owner so I always send from the "Group "Owner" option. As I always get a copy of my message back on my own email address I tend to assume that the others received it as well, but I will confirm next time I have to do it. It would be odd if it picked my address out to send to and didn't get the others as well. Chris |

I sent the invite, it's been accepted, and I've made the transfer address a moderator in my groups. When I go to the transfer page to click to give it the go ahead I get this message:I suspect this message means that the transfer agent has not yet received email confirmation from Yahoo stating that its membership application has been accepted. You might be able to see that it has in the group itself, but if Yahoo is having their usual server problems... The "integrations" line on your home page is for RSS feeds, linking with Facebook, etc (see Admin->Integrations). It has no bearing on the transfer process. Thoughts? I tried this last night and again this morning. I know, I know, patience is a virtue, lol. I just want to be sure I'm not adding the same request a hundred times when it went through and I didn't know it.I suggest waiting a couple of days. Given dash's recent report and yours, I suspect something may be up with Y!G again and it may take at least that long for things to sort themselves out. Good luck, Bruce |
