Re: Should bouncing messages result in deletion of member from group?

That sounds similar to pending members, except that pending members are not counted in the overall member count. If bounced members are removed from the regular members list, it stands to reason that they should also be removed from the count, and this seems wrong.

So, are bouncing members also removed from the member count? Either way, I'd call it a flaw: if they're removed from the member count, that's wrong because they're still members of the group. If they're not removed from the member count, that's wrong because they're removed from the members list.

I think there are some confusing inconsistencies now:

  • Moderators can be viewed separately by clicking on 'moderators' but are still part of the overall list - seems fine, a nice convenience
  • Pending members are viewed separately (and not part of the complete list) by clicking on "pending" - seems fine, since they're not members of the group?
  • Bouncing members are now viewed separately and not part of the overall list - seems wrong, especially if they're still counted in the members count (which they should be)

I think this should be reported to Mark. I don't have any bouncing ?members now so I can't check it out for myself.
