There is little point usurping the traditional role of 'normal private email' to just keep a record that otherwise wasn't meant for public disclosure (originally). Enhancement (if it were so called) to this level will only later cause greater error and embarrassment to someone because they did/ do not understand the finesse required.
Better private and one-to-one remains just that in their own systems, not a public access one.
After all, these people ARE using email programmes right? Use them the way they are intended.
Lots of off topic discussion can remain that way- or be pulled into a group just by adding the appropriate email addy.
