Would you say it's likely that a second try following your directions
has a good shot at getting more photos properly moved, or is that more
likely to move the same photos and get the same error message from
Groups.io?

I can't even hazard a guess.

From what I've read the errors seem to be random, rather than tied to specific content. So that would bode well. But whether you'd get more than just another 20% I don't know.

Too, I don't know for certain that Mark considers a retry like this to be a proper use of the transfer facility. But I think it would bother him less to have you try it than to have you ask about it.

Kudos to Mark and his team at GIO on the great job they've done!

Indeed. He's not a member here but I'm sure good karma goes with the kudos. Credit where it is due and all that.
