Re: not accepting new members

I noticed you said that the group the individual comes from is a nasty and divisive group and that the person "wants to" bring negativity into your group.

Are you sure about the second assertion?

I'm a moderator but not the owner of a rather active group, but my role is a standby role. The main owner actually does all the moderation.?

We had one active member who kept going off on political tangents, and those and religious tangents can kill a group and so are not allowed. (The subject of the group is neither political nor religious.) So he was warned, then moderated, and finally banned. Later he asked to rejoin and was readmitted and there has not been a repetition.?

The person in question is tremendously knowledgeable about the subject of the group, and despite his past missteps he is now a valuable member whom I make it a point to read whenever he posts.?

I very much admired the way the group owner handled the situation.?

Can I reject this person without a reason?

Thank you.
