To follow a topic, go to the home page groups.io. Under ¡°Topics,¡± click on
¡°All¡± to bring up a list of all the topics in the totality of your groups.
To follow a topic, click on it, and then on ¡°Follow This Topic.¡±
Since the groups.io page shows a list of your groups, it would be easier to have the opportunity to select just the group whose topics you wish to manage.
Otherwise, if you are member of several groups you get a jungle of topics.
*Following a hashtag*
To follow a hashtag, go to the home page groups.io. Under ¡°Hashtags,¡±
click
on ¡°Muted,¡± and then on ¡°+Follow a New Hashtag.¡± Enter the name of the
hashtag (be sure to include the # sign), the group name in which you want
to follow it, and the duration (¡°forever,¡± ¡°one hour,¡± etc.).
I throw in the towel. This is really too tortuous for my average members.
I think I'll just tell them to go on like they did on Yahoo, setting up a filter in their own email client.
