It's sort of mentioned on the site Help page in the Hashtag section, /static/help#hashtags.? (Enhancing the Wiki page here on GMF with more details would be welcomed, /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Creating-Hashtags.)? Any hashtag can be set to delete or lock the thread after a time that can also be set (default is Forever, so no action is taken automatically.)? By adding one of those hashtags to an Event on the Calendar, you have some control over how long they stick around.
