There is potential for misuse of such tools to circumvent groups.io's pricing structure. Picture a scenario we all collaborated to buy an Enterprise group (with its own domain) and house everyone's groups as unlimited subgroups of that. The ability to move messages between groups/subgroups would only facilitate this kind of abuse.
There's also the potential for breach of trust. Imagine posting something to what you
thought was a private group (Alcoholics Anonymous or whatever) only to have someone later move all your messages to a different one that was public.
I can't speak for Mr Fletcher; but if it was me, I would be very hesitant to go there.
