You can't ban it after the person has already been removed. So this wouldn't work in Davy's case.

Bruce, that's a good point and I hadn't thought about it. I had this exact thing happen in one of my groups (the "Do you have an amazon account" ploy). I put the subscriber on moderation until she could fix the problem.
I don't think banning is necessary, though, unless the person ends up needing to get a new email address.
