I guess with the ongoing stay-at-home restrictions, many groups have become much busier. I referred to this previously as one of the few bright spots in an otherwise especially bleak time.
A couple times over the past six weeks messages posted in an old Yahoo Group --that was moved to io last November -- suddenly began appearing in my inbox. Apparently a few members had not gotten the word that the group moved six months ago. One of the respondents is someone I know, someone who DID move to the new group and has been fairly active there. I emailed him to ask, 'Why would they be posting the messages in the Yahoo group, do you think they don't know the group moved?" The down side is, there were images attached to some of the messages and those images were not stored by Yahoo. Also, the Yahoo Group is extremely slow while the io group is running about fifteen messages a day. Any members who have not gotten the word on the move are missing all that.
To my surprise, at first the gentleman I contacted was baffled as to what I was talking about. It turned out, when he read and replied to the messages he never noticed they were from Yahoo. On the group's old Yahoo homepage it says the group has been "abandoned in place." I'm just a member of this group, and not a very active one (though I enjoy reading the messages), so I'm reluctant to do anything other than to have contacted the man I know.
Has anyone else seen anything like this happen?
