I'm told that the existing message editor is based on TinyMCE. If so, there is a Format Painter add-on available ().

To get rid of existing weird formatting, click the "Clear formatting" button on the advanced toolbar (screenshot below).

If you select "Normalize HTML Emails" in your settings, those toolbar icons will be unavailable. Deselect that option and they should come back.

There is nothing to keep you from forwarding group emails that you receive to other people, using your own email client. There is no function to forward messages using the groups.io web interface.

I'm pretty sure this statement is untrue, except as mentioned above.
