Two things I would like to do / have

 

Hello all -?? I have two requests for help / suggestions.

1.? I would like a format painter button: ? I don't like releasing messages sent in with a hodgepodge of colors and fonts and line spacings? -- and it is nearly impossible without a format painter to get things to look professional.?? Is there a way to do this already?? If not, is it a difficult thing to add??
  • I would prefer NOT to use the Normalize HTML setting, because I often want to highlight or emphasize a portion of a message -- and simply bolding or italics may confuse the reader because it looks like the SENDER did that.?
  • As moderator, I want to be able to say "see in particular the highlighted or colored areas.."?
  • For a while, the advanced toolbar had an option to change the color of text, but it seems to have disappeared.? What happened to it??

2.? In this time of COVID-19, I have realized that a list-serv can be a good way to START disseminating information.? But if members CANNOT forward messages, the disseminating? stops there.??
  • In our old Yahoo group, one could forward messages to others.? A lot of my group members used to do that -- they'd appoint one person to monitor the list-serv and pass along things of interest to the others.? The option of forwarding seems NOT to be possible in Groups.io.?? Why?? I do realize that enabling wholesale forwarding messages defeats the idea of a restricted group with a private conversation -- which all of mine are. But:
    • The ground rules of the groups are to "write as though your message will end up on the front page of the NY Times
    • And I get around the problem frequently myself by swooping text, then copying and pasting it -- but the format looks sucky that way and takes a lot of work to neaten up.
  • Why don't we have an option to allow members to forward messages??
  • Could we, the moderators who review all messages before posting, have the option of allowing forwarding by members when dissemination of a piece of news or an opportunity would be good.?? Is this possible?
