FWIW the group I co - own has 3 in the pending queue, awaiting responses to the Pending Membership notices and in one 1 case the Confirmation Email, so in these 3 cases nothing seems to be amiss.
Looking at their individual "memberships" all 3 have Individual Messages set, and in all 3 cases their Email Delivery History shows nothing being sent since the Pending Subscription messages.
Going back to the OP... can you positively confirm that the two groups to which you referred
are Restricted. (i.e. applicants requiring moderator approval) Did they require you to submit a response to a Pending Subscription message, and if so did you send one to each of them? And exactly what notifications did you receive that your membership requests had been passed?
