Steve -- My attempt to be totally clear on this:
If a subscriber of your group goes to Subscription>Group Profile, creates a profile, and changes the Profile Privacy setting to either "Public" or "Other Members of your Group," then
that subscriber's profile will be visible to others in the Directory.
Group Moderators and Owners can see profile information no matter what. This can lead to some confusion if they unknowingly refer regular Subscribers to the Directory for information that is not visible to them.
