I¡¯m considering moving 2 Yahoo groups to groups.io, one with about 924 members and one with about 216 members.? I understand from the Help file that an annual fee of $110 applies to use the move technique described in the Help files.? Would this apply to both groups?? That is, would it cost us $220 to move 2 groups??
Karen -- Yes, the price to be paid is
per group.
We are not, unfortunately, a non-profit ¨C the Greater Rockridge Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council is considered a part of Oakland, CA city government, specifically the Neighborhood Services group in the Police Department.? So I can¡¯t show you a 501(c)(3).?
That wouldn't make any difference. The non-profit discount applies only to the Enterprise plan, which itself is quite a bit more expensive.
If using the tools would cost $220, is there a way I could do it by hand for free??
There have been multiple messages over the last few days discussing this very thing, and I suggest you read them and come back with further questions. See also:?
/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/FAQ-on-Moving-from-YahooGroupsSummarizing:? If your goal is to do this on the cheap, and you have a lot of time on your hands, moving the subscribers by hand is relatively easy. Moving files/photos and stuff like that is quite a bit more difficult. Migrating your old group messages to groups.io without paying the upgrade fee is pretty much impossible.
Hope this helps,
