Other than resubscribing to their GIO group(s) with their new email address, is there any way they can change the email address associated with their GIO account?? Assume that at least one of the groups to which they are subscribed is a free (non-premium) group.
Account information cannot be changed without logging in. However, it is not necessary to have an active cookie. If the person has set an account password, (s)he should be able to log in even without access to his/her old email address. Just enter the old address and password in the login page (/login), followed by clicking on the blue "Change Email" button.

The better question to ask is whether the person involved IS subscribed to a Premium group. If so, a group Owner (or Moderator with the "Set Member Subscription Options" permission) should be able to edit the email address (see?/static/pricing).

As you might imagine, those who do own Premium groups must use this feature with discretion.

What happens to abandoned GIO accounts (not subscribed to any group)?? Are they removed after a certain period of inactivity?
I'm pretty sure that unused accounts just hang around in limbo, as there is no way for groups.io to tell objectively whether they are really defunct, or simply not subscribed to anything. Perhaps this very old message in beta will provide more insight (), but only Mark knows for sure.

Bruce?
