What happens to inactive GIO accounts


 

I have a subscriber who changed email providers and then realized they had neglected to change the address associated with their GIO account.? They no longer have access to their old email account, and they have never signed in to the GIO website (and hence no saved authentication cookie).

Two questions (my apologies for asking something that has been answered before, but my searches have been unfruitful):

Other than resubscribing to their GIO group(s) with their new email address, is there any way they can change the email address associated with their GIO account?? Assume that at least one of the groups to which they are subscribed is a free (non-premium) group.

What happens to abandoned GIO accounts (not subscribed to any group)?? Are they removed after a certain period of inactivity?
