Michelle -- Could you provide more details as to the nature of the problem? Are you continuing to experience issues, or has removing this one person resolved it? What damage has been done, and what objectives do you have going forward?

To a first approximation, consider revisiting your Spam Control settings. Many groups let just anyone in without really vetting them; perhaps you will want to change your own group policies, always with the benefit of hindsight.
