But wasn't her group me and another Lady opened it and own it and she tried to sign us up with groups io.? What's to keep anyone from taking your group and doing what they want with it?? Doesn't seem right or fair.

In a word, nothing.? As a new service, Groups.io allows anyone to create any group they wish, as long as the name hasn't been taken.? If folks don't join the group, it may go away eventually, but I don't believe there's a fixed amount of 'idle' time required.
