Go to Admin>Members and select "banned" using the blue pull-down menu button at top left. On the resulting page you will find an entry box where you can pro-actively enter someone's email address.
Note that banned members can still read group messages if your message archives are public (see Admin>Settings>Privacy>Visibility).
