I agree with you, Bruce. The "all or nothing" if you up someone to Moderator is something that is problematic to my groups, as well. I end up NOT giving moderator privvies and continuing to do the work myself. Or, if something specific needs to be done for a short time, give Mod status to the particular person doing it and then taking them back to regular member.
It would be great to allow individual features and functions to be fine-tuned.
