Just a quick follow-up here...

My suggestion also was based upon my experiences with those members on my groups who may be not fully tech savvy and who therefore seem to benefit from repeated reminders along the way; forms such as a repetition of something like that particualr link title which are offered more than just once along the way to logging in.

That is why I ssuggested expanding the link title to "Email me a LInk to Log In". That more exactly says what it means than do the other, truncated versions. Our tech savvy members already know how to read and understand the log-in steps. It's those not fully tech savvy members who need that little extra help. We shouldn't be unnecessarily exclusionary if we want to attract and keep new members.
