SparkleFever, In addition to the issue of flouting the EU privacy requirements, ... I disagree with the notion that what's happening is flouting those requirements: this is a normal and necessary part of the operation of an email list. As I understand it normal and necessary uses are allowed; but I'm not in the EU and I don't really have a direct interest in learning all the finer points of the regulations. there may be another issue down the line with who would be held responsible for any breaches, as we lodge our email addresses on our account, not with google and the emails are sent from . It isn't just Google or Gmail: it is every email service used by every one of your members (those who subscribe to Individual messages) - just as your email address and mine have been sent to a large fraction of GMF's members. There have been suggestions made in (the Groups.io official "suggestion box") that an option be created to allow groups to keep members anonymous from one another. But there's no indication that such a feature is being planned, and such an option might impose some restrictions on group features. A recent version of this suggestion was posted under the topic.
