my regimen is similar to yours but I eat tomatoes and spices, particularly cayenne, turmeric and ginger. I avoid bananas (high GI). Erections are much better since absolute zero 2 years ago. Frequency is manageable. I can sleep through the night - guess because of the different relative position bladder/prostate. Will (self-)apply more prostate massages. No problem with fluid. Also more perineal massage. Acupressure doesn't seem to work. Your family's opinion is not an exclusive case,-) Regards Peter At 19:01 Uhr +0200 04.04.2003, SANSRX@... wrote:

GRATEFUL FOR THE KNOWLEDGE OFFERED
Peter and group,
My BPH related to prostate enlargement has taken a turn for the better. Approx size 40 gm Feb'03 Vs 63 in '99. The DRE was smooth w/o any discomfort. I used to keep a jar in the car, NO LONGER. Could not postpone urination, by KEGELING I'm now able to. Currently: Erections not holding, dribbling, bladder not emptying, no sex, are issues I continue battling. Coincidence, the dribbling started after ingesting 1 1/2 bottles of epilobium (I say the ethanol did it, Art disagrees.) The reduction of the prostate inflammation may be attributed to: Exercise 2-3 times weekly, a)Cottage Cheese+FlaxOil+Flaxseed Grounded+pumpkin seeds+almonds+brazils, daily. Somedays without the seeds&nuts. Teas: b)PauDArco, Green. Either caffeine free or non, I avoid Decaf. Prostate massages (no fluids produced, haven't given up yet) I avoid 90% of the time: Acid foods, tomatoes, limes, spicy salsas, hard liquor, carbonated drinks, MSG, carrageenan. I have been selective on what I eat & drink, although I cheat on occasions. My last peeing episode was this AM @ 08:25, it's now noon. For breakfast had a)& b) plus one banana. Overall, my health has improved, and that's saying a whole lot. The buddy system always works,I wouldn't go out 1/2 mile out in the ocean free diving w/o someone else present. If not for the fellowship of these two sites: Pralt-Discuss & FlaxSeed2 I would have succumbed to my family's wishes. (biopsies, medications) Forever grateful Ramon ________________________________________________________ Subj: Re: [pralt-discuss] Urinary Incontinence Treatments Date: 4/4/2003 9:29:48 AM Eastern Standard Time From: Peter Fackelmann <pfackelmann@...> To: pralt-discuss@... I would also add that black tea is binding and causes constipation.

Ozone & the new virus & all virus
Gaylen Tibbitt
---original message---
The reports I have read identify the SARS virus as corona virus. Best of Health! Dear Saul, Like others, I have watched the news about SARS, and assumed ozone would handle it. But, which therapy? I assumed that because it was a pulmonary infection that breathing ozone through olive oil would do the trick. Am I right? jim lambert -------------------------------------------------- Dear Jim, Yes, breathing ozone through olive oil, and ear insufflation, and cupping with a funnel on the chest would all be viable. I got mine @ The The AF-100 (the first one you come to) is for a small room. $100
For big rooms I got the The AOS-1MP $350. We use the big one in the livingroom area, & use the small one int the bedroom while we sleep. With the big one you can ozonate liquids then too. You might want to buy the small one & see if you like it, then get the big one. The big one puts out 5 times as much. Gaylen From: karatbird@... Reply-To: FlaxSeedOil2@... To: FlaxSeedOil2@... tell your mother to have a big glass of water after the Budwig muesli. Constipation is not an expression of lactose intolerance. Tofu doesn't have enough sulphuric proteins/amino acids. Regards Peter At 23:01 Uhr +0200 03.04.2003, marimbac wrote:

Constipation can also be an imbalance between Calcium anf Magnesium. I was
taking 25 grams of vitamin C daily and 4 tablespoons of ground flaxseed and still constipated UNTIL I adjusted my magnesium intake. mjh In a message dated 4/3/03 10:12:59 PM Eastern Standard Time, FlaxSeedOil2@... writes:

Switch from cottage cheese to plain nonfat yoghurt with live bacteria or make
your own allowing it to do it's thing for 24 hours, this makes sure all the lactose is converted. The beneficial bacteria in yoghurt are wonderful for any number of gut issues. Kefir is another option to cottage cheese. In a message dated 4/3/03 10:12:59 PM Eastern Standard Time, FlaxSeedOil2@... writes: My mom started fo/cc a month ago after she finished her first round |

Two of Johanna Budwig's books are translated into English and I strongly suggest you get them NOW to fully understand her protocol directly from her perspective, so nothing gets left out. Amazon.com and Barleans have the books. I get my flaxseed oil from vitaminworld. Yes, in the beginning, the diet is strict, but some meats can be included after progress. You change your eating habits for your lifetime. Portions are not restricted. I frequently use Essiac as a tonic in conjunction with Dr. Budwig's protocol. mjh In a message dated 4/3/03 10:12:59 PM Eastern Standard Time, FlaxSeedOil2@... writes: From: "Jerry Kreyling" <on-the-road@...> |
Re: Digest Number 704
My son and I use flaxseed oil, ground flaxseed, homemade yoghurt
mixed together, plus sunlight. FO/FS/YO+Sun is our shorthand. Dr Budwig specifies sulferated proteins and seems to prefer them from cultured/fermented dairy, ie quark, yoghurt, kefir....... and yes even cottage cheese. mjh In a message dated 4/3/03 10:12:59 PM Eastern Standard Time, FlaxSeedOil2@... writes:

fo/cc and constipation
Sandy Lightfoot
Hello Regina!
Since I used to have Stage 1V Ovarian Cancer (dx 4 years ago), I feel I may be able to pass along a few things I learned while I was going through chemo. First of all, the chemo itself causes constipation. If your Mom has to take iron pills, they also cause constipation, so does Tylenol. Most of the women (with OvCa) I know, take Sennakot and stool softeners to relieve constipation, but the Dr's don't suggest it unless one asks. Add some ground flaxseed to the FO/CC mixture and I'm sure it will help. If you need to ask me anything else regarding this, my e-mail is spp@... Good Luck to you and your Mom. Sandy Lightfoot. |
Re: Urgent Questions!

Jerry -
I see that you have received several responses already. I will add my bit to it by dealing directly with your questions. 1. How strict is the Budwig diet? <It is a matter of how you look at it. Someone who wants to stick to the old food habits will consider it strict. Someone who is already used to a sensible diet will not consider it strict. While it has it's special points, it is really a common sense nutritional program. The main features are fo/cc and ground flaxseeds. But there is much more to it. You can see a good examples of it when you read "Letter from Dr.Budwig's Patient" and other sections at this site: You don't have to follow it word for word but the principles of it should be understood and followed for best results. 2. Can I eat things like fish or organically raised meat? <I have not seen fish in Dr.Budwig's regimen. Regarding meats, she recommends not to eat it. If you feel you must eat it choose organic meat from grass fed animals. 3. How much of the mixture should I take in the beginning? <The initialization for the first 3 days is individually prescribed by Dr.Budwig. Since she is not here to give advice you have to use your own judgment as most of us had to do. I don't really know how important the correct initialization is. The general rules of the protocol can be seen in the web site I gave above. 4. Will I need to stay on this diet for the rest of my life? <One should stay on the diet for a long time. Many people choose to stay on it for life. 5. Are the portions of food restricted? <Not as far as I know. I would use my weight (gain/loss) as a guide. 6. Would any of the other treatments interfere with the Budwig diet? <According to Dr.Budwig, chemo therapy and radiation interfere with her diet. They oppose what she is trying to do. Yet on a number of occasions Cliff has written of people on chemo who seem to have done better after they started taking fo/cc. From that we can conclude that if one decides to go for the Budwig diet, it is not a good idea to add chemo or radiation to the protocol. However, if one is on chemo already and decides to improve one's chances, the addition of fo/cc, ground flax seeds, etc. can be beneficial. I don't know about the Coumadin. Since flaxseed oil acts as a blood thinner perhaps you would require less Coumadin, especially if you have excessive bleeding as you say. You may also want to add foods to your diet that are high in vitamin 'k' because of vitamin k's critical role in blood clotting. I suggest you check these points with your doctor. Foods very high in vitamin k are swiss chard and kale - followed by parsley, brussels sprouts and spinach. If you do a Google search you will find much information on this such as at this site: I wish you good health and all the best, Wilhelm Jerry Kreyling wrote: Hello, |

Thanks for clearing that up for me. On the subject of sugar and what not, which often confuses me I must say (glucose, fructose, carbohydrates, etc.), Yesterday I read some interesting stuff about sugar and insulin resistance (fits in with cancer issues) on Mercola's web site. It's a bit of a read, but it does give some insights into the need to manage our diets, especially in cancer. Warning, it is quite a lengthy article: Cheers - Les Catterall macktheknife11@... wrote:

Regina - It could and probably is the chemo - my husband gets terribly constipated BUT ONLY right after chemo - a couple of doses of citricell and a softener usually relieves him - usually only to go the other way - and right about the time we get him normalized again it's time for another chemo - which by the way we have stopped for an indefinate period - he had to be hosptialized after the last one because the side affects were so deleterious...it's very hard to have a foot in both camps.
kirsten marimbac <reginac@...> wrote:My mom started fo/cc a month ago after she finished her first round of chemo for ovarian cancer. It seems that fo/cc makes her very constipated. Has anyone had the same experience? Since she doesn't eat much cheese before, I'm wondering if it is Lactose Intolerance. I've heard that some people used soft tofu instead of cottage cheese? Does anyone one know how much I need to use? Thank you in advance for your reply. Regina Yahoo! I just finished reading the 2000 copyright of Harvey Diamond's book, Fit For Life, A New Beginning. Someone mentioned on this list that your lymph nodes should be working well in the morning. This author talks about that. The book is about cancer (and other diseases) and how the lymph system works. The main idea in the book is to get your lymph system flowing well and functioning well. The author is against the use of chemo in most cases because he feels that you can't make a sick person well by giving him poison. The bottom line is.... to use what he calls monodieting periodically to give your digestive a rest and to help your lymph system along. Here is a short excerpt from page 180: Periodic monodieting is the eating of fresh fruits and/or vegetables and their juices, uncooked, for a length of time that ranges from one day to several weeks.... <snip> The purpose of monodieting is twofold. The first purpose is to use as little energy as possible on digestion so that energy can be freed and directed toward the cleansing and rejuvenation of the lymph system. The second purpose of monodieting is to obtain the maximum amount of fuel and nutrients from the food being eaten. Raw food fulfills these two purposes of monodieting better than cooked or processed food. Raw food demands less energy to digest and provides the most nutrients because it is in its purest state, its natural state. Any cooking of food removes or denatures some nutrients. Bear in mind that human beings are the only species that eats cooked food, and humans lead all species in degenerative diseases..... He goes on to tell about making your own fresh fruit and vegetable juices and eating fresh fruits and vegetables and salads for dinner for a period of time to get cleaned out and functioning better. Then repeat this on a maintenance schedule, such as 2 days a week. Carolyn Jerry Kreyling wrote:

Re: fo/cc and constipation
I also remember after having chemo, it would totally constipate me also. Take
stool softener like 2 days before and continue until after chemo and see if constipation is over. Thank the Lord, I will be taking the same chemo I took last time, caRBOPLATIN , so I won't lose my hair. Cynthia |

Regina,
Have her try a few of Sunsweet prunes. If that don't work there is a substitute for CC that comes in a capsule I believe. Cliff just recently posted the jnformation on it. I saved it for reference but can't find it now. I'm sure someone else will send the info on it to you. Bob Smith |
