Re: miraculous healing of serious "incurable" osteoarthritis at "morphine stage"

it is truly a miracle healing and recovery considering that she was nearly at death's door and the multiple traumas her body had sustained, first from the near-fatal accident and then from the "treatment"/operations she received over many years! In fact in the beginning of this year I was fearing for her life since life certainly didn't seem possible living much longer considering the increasingly unbearable pain she was in... she even wrote to me about sometimes drifting into other dimensions and it was so sad to read, as if she was inwardly preparing to take off... Thankfully she has a great purpose in life (working to help create a "better world for all") and absolutely insisted to fulfill it and for this she needed to regain her health as she has done... it is truly wonderful!

I hope you will be able to use her testimonial for the Budwig testimonial Files at some point in the future when she will be relying mostly on Budwig to keep her health... when she had these horrible pain episodes, any help at all was grasped at, and after being convinced that "helpful" morphine might possibly kill her, she started using joint cream and Master's miracle products... In a way I wished I hadn't pointed any of it out to her to keep it a more "Budwig only" testimonial but at that point in time, getting the horrible pain under control was THE primordial and only immediate objective... the pain she was in simply seemed to leave no other choice, and any promising "outer" application seemed absolutely to be in order...
(btw I have only known details about her health issues from the beginning of this year, otherwise i would have pointed her to better ways of dealing with her health long before)

and thank you for thanking me i enjoy helping people...

Re: Diabetes

Wilhelm Hansen

Michael,

Dr.Budwig says that diabetes starts because of a lack of highly unsaturated fatty acids and that the body's inability to process sugar is a condition that follows.

For example in her book "Flax Oil as a True Aid for Arthritis, Heart Infarction, Cancer & Other Diseases" page 12, she says:

"The basic problem with diabetics is really an impairment of the fats metabolism system, and not that of the conversion of sugar. The sugar assimilation problem is only secondary"

Here is a quote from her 1959 book "Das Fettsyndrom" (The Fatsyndrome) p. 62 (not everything is translated verbatim):

"Overburdening to exhaustion of the pancreatic gland and the formation of a tumor in the pancreas is more prevalent today than ever... diabetes is a "fatsyndrome" as is the entire complex of pancreatitis. The fact that the mentioned disorders with this this "upper abdomen syndrome" in the Liver-Gallbladder-Pancreas have a common cause in fat metabolism, has until now not been considered. This applies to the exocrine part of the pancreas which produces pancreatic fluid, and also to the endocrine glands which are also known as the Islets of Langerhans, because they play a significant role in the diabetic..."
I will skip the next 10 or 11 lines on this subject and continue with this:

"The patient is told in clinics about the quantity of fat to take but alas, the type of fat is not taken into consideration. But that is the deciding factor. If a diabetic changes the fat consumption to the principles of the Oil-Protein Diet with its highly unsaturated fatty acids, and the ballast fats and the poisons that choke fat metabolism are excluded, a recovery of the diabetic patient almost always occurs..."
This text continues, but I will end it here since the main point of inerest has been made.

Did you read the post of Lothar Hirneise's presentation? If not, check msg.# 14357. It is a 'must read' if you have any doubts about Dr.Budwig's Oil-Protein Diet. Here is the line about diabetes:

"But I can tell you one thing, a very nice side effect with many cancer patients which I have seen, who have injected insulin for years and who went then on the Oil-Protein Diet, that they afterwards did not need to
inject insulin anymore."

Hi,

here is an amazing osteoarthritis healing testimonial by Carol Pippin... I
am tremendously excited about it since as one of her rare confidantes, I
tried to accompany her in her atrocious suffering "in real time" - as some
of you will know, there may be few things more draining than trying to help
someone in great pain...

I was feeling utterly confused and helpless when even after apparently
starting to implement a healthy diet and the Budwig protocol (plus
supplements she wanted to take), her serious osteoarthritis continued to
worsen and her doctors - true to style - gave her morphine and recommended
three additional joint replacements... during one of her (then daily)
horrible pain episodes in March, I posted a cry for help to this group...
shortly after I learned (by questioning her in detail) that she was on a
number of drugs... I was shocked and dismayed since I hadn't realized that
she was innocent enough to think that drugs had no negative/interfering
effect on her health... After being pointed to much revealing info on
drugs' side effects, she gradually weaned herself off them...

And here is her MIRACLE healing story with Budwig playing a major part!!!

Re: Wilhelm

Wilhelm Hansen

Hi Mary,

In food you usually get a mix of Cysteine, Cystine and Methionine along with other amino acids. The preferred forms of taking the sulphur containing amino acids are Cystine and Methionine because as I understand it, they survive the digestive process better than Cysteine which easily breakes down.

That does not mean that taking Methionine in pill form is a good idea. For one thing it cannot be mixed with FO and make it water soluble. It probably is as good as companion nutrients, but I am not in favor of them either. Neither did Dr.Budwig mention them (in her 1999 book) when she was asked by a professor for alternatives to CC. From that I conclude that she was not in favor of them. If someone knows different, I would appreciate hearing about it, and being pointed to a place where she said they are ok to use as part of her diet.

Therefore, seeing how concerned you are (your other post today) I would try to stick to the real thing for now, even if it meant to postpone travel.

Wilhelm

Wilhelm,

In view of the below, would amino acid Methionine be all right to take in
an emergency?
Another thing in web site www.cancure.org/budwig_diet.htm it states "
For those who can't eat dairy products, you can substitute "Companion
Nutrients" available through Nature's Distributors in Arizona,
1-800-624-7114. These are capsules containing dried sulfurated proteins and
enzymes which activate the essential fatty acids. They guarantee that one
capsule will activate one Tbsp. of oil.
Don't think I have seen anyone mention if they take this while traveling,
etc., when they can't get the cottage cheese?
Thanks, Mary H.

Re: looking for a lymphoma survivor

Wilhelm Hansen

MHW,

It is my understanding that b-cell lymphoma is a type of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. We have several testimonials on that in our files. Have a look. We also have testimonials on tongue cancer, oesophageal cancer and jawbone cancer (see "Bone Cancer - 2 " and then look under "Facial bone cancer") - these are areas that are of concern to you.

Your getting scared is very understandable, but it does not help as you need to get into a calm mental disposition where you have confidence that you will win over this affliction - that is important regardless of what therapeutic method you use. The mind can be a very powerful ally - or foe if you let it.

What I am wondering is what you mean by "taking fo/cc like mad". Perhaps you can spell it out so that you can get some helpful input. The Budwig Protocol is about more than just eating fo/cc. Very important is also what NOT to eat. Please read our files if you have not already done so. Some factors that negatively influence your recovery can easily be overlooked. They can include environmental poisons, radiation (e.g. cell phones), chemicals (e.g. preservatives), pharmaceutical drugs, hidden bad fats (e.g. baked goods, restaurant foods), nutritional supplements (e.g antioxidants), etc.

Also, have you considered Eldi Oils for external oil rubs? That is very helpful according to Dr.Budwig. It is in our files too.

Wishing you a quick return to health,
Wilhelm

I am really in a fix. I had an inch tumor removed from just under my chin
about 6 weeks ago and I refused radiation and chemo. It seem to be
proliferating because I have a small lump in the same location and am
taking fo/cc like mad but have only been doing it for about 10 days and am
getting scared because the tumor could eat away my jaw bone and of course
the tongue and throat are so close. The Dr. and nurse weren't too happy
with me. Had a lower tooth pulled today that had a little bump on the
outside of my gum and it wasn't there last week because I had teeth exrayed

Wilhelm, I don't know if this request would be considered ill-mannered, but it would be helpful (I think) if the members of the board, when they're asking questions and exchanging information, would state the purpose for which they're taking FO/CC. That is, is the request for general good health, or remission maintenance or whatever? I'm particularly interested, for example, in those cancer warriors among us who have achieved remission through using the Budwig Diet.

Hi,

I am not an expert on diabetes but I understand that some diabetes is
the result of a lack of Omega 3.

Where this is true the Flax Oil may solve the problem. Anyone with
diabetes using flax oil must check the sugar levels very carefully.

We have seen situations where the problem disappeared as long as the
person used FO/CC.

Catherine,
blame it on my translation. In an attempt to translate as literally as possible, I sometimes allow myself to get caught up in her often convoluted way of writing. Anyone who knows German well (e.g. Ulla) knows what I am talking about. That is not meant in a derogatory way, it is proper German. Dr.Johanna Budwig was far more proficient in German and of course in the subject matter than I am or ever will be. This kind of writing is quite common in Germany, especially among academic writers. One sentence can be as long as 4 or 5 lines. Dr.Budwig often takes it to the extreme spiked with many medical terms, the combination of which is for me sometimes very hard to translate.

I should translate these more complicated passages more loosely and not try to capture all the nuances exactly the way they are given. That way the passage would have come out like this.

"The substances that are contained in the SH-group have often been used with varied success. This important sulfhydryl group is found in Detoxin, in Insulin, in Pancreatic Secretions and especially in Methionine which is converted to Cysteine in the body. The often reported good success with essential fatty acids and the significance of the often discussed "lipotropic effects" of these essential amino acids brought me to the realization that the full potential of these substances can only be reached when they are combined so that they can interact."

Does it sound any better?

Wilhelm, thanks for the quote. *sigh* This partly points out why Dr. Budwig's theory isn't widely accepted: she can't/couldn't write worth a darn! If only she had had someone transfer her ideas into clear and concise language (it can't all be blamed on translation from German to English), we'd possibly see a lot fewer people dying from cancer today.

How about this quote from 1952 as given in Dr.Budwig's 1977 book "Der Tod des Tumors - Band II" (The Death of the Tumor -Vol.II) page 150:

"The substances that are contained in the SH-group have often been used with varied success. This significant sulfhydryl group is found in Detoxin, in Insulin, in Pancreatic Secretions, especially in Methionine which is converted in the organism to Cysteine. The often good success with essential fatty acids for the same indications and the significance of the often discussed "lipotropic effects" of the essential amino acids, brought me to the realization that only through interaction of the essential amino acids and the essential fatty acids can the physiological significance of these substances fully evolve."

and cheese for breakfast. At one time I would have loved that
breakfast but not anymore. I think I will try the mix with fruit and
go from there.
Thanks again.

Thanks Diane:
That is a good point. I will keep trying to get him on the flaxseed
oil and to eat mostly vegetables. It would be a start anyway.I will
keep you posted. Although I'm sure the doctors will tell him not to
change his diet.(he sees them daily because of the clinical trail)
They are on him like flys on sh.t. All I can do is try. Wish me
luck.
Thanks again.

Thanks, Mary H.

miraculous healing of serious "incurable" osteoarthritis at "morphine stage"

Hi,

here is an amazing osteoarthritis healing testimonial by Carol Pippin... I
am tremendously excited about it since as one of her rare confidantes, I
tried to accompany her in her atrocious suffering "in real time" - as some
of you will know, there may be few things more draining than trying to help
someone in great pain...

Ulla

I was innocently involved in a very serious six car accident in 1993 which
I wasn't expected to survive with multiple fractures and much more. Many
months later and against all odds, I was released from the hospital...
Over the following years, I developed Ebstein's Barr Disease, Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and symptoms of severe osteoarthritis
particularly in my left knee and right hip. My doctors apart from putting
me on an increasing number of drugs (including Celebrex, Prozac, Lipitor,
hormones, Achiphex, muscle relaxors, water pills, Clarinex, Fioricet and
nasal sprays......) convinced me that only a complete replacement of these
two joints would help me, and since as so many I implicitly trusted their
"wisdom" and expertise, I consented to having these two major operations.
My diet in these years consisted of meat, potatoes, veggies, some soda,
water, coffee and sweets (what my Mom had always cooked!)

In spite of the promises made to me, the operations didn't spell the end
of my serious troubles, in fact, my operated knee has continued to give me
trouble to this day. The arthritic process continued unabated in my
joints, leading to most excruciating pain periods up to and in the first
months of 2004. My doctors, true to style, recommended three more joint
replacements in my back, other knee and neck, which needless to say,
really scared me as of my previous experiences.... I had learned about and
started to implement healthy nutrition, natural nutritional
supplementation and the Budwig protocol at about the same time through my
friend Ulla, but things - as would normally be expected - didn't
dramatically improve at all but seemed to stay as bad or even get worse
for me healthwise, and I even started to take the morphine my doctor had
provided me with, as the pain became truly unbearable (morphine can
absolutely kill people, see for instance
www.healingcancernaturally.com/hamer.html). As mentioned I was taking a
sizeable amount of supplements such as multi-vitamins, vitamins C, E, B,
calcium, magnesium , etc. at the same time... I then learned through Ulla
that drugs may be a major culprit in inhibiting successful application of
the Budwig protocol (which as you are aware is a healthy fresh vegetarian
organic diet centered around the flaxoil/cottage cheese mixture plus
sunshine, stress management etc.) by interfering with various biological,
metabolic and cellular processes and gradually weaned myself from all of
them (I had suffered a number of noticeable side-effects from them too,
such as water retention, brain fog, fatigue and depression). Dr. Budwig
herself of course strictly prohibits the use of drugs and only allows and
recommends natural yeast flakes as a supplement.

EVER SINCE CUTTING OUT THE DRUGS AND CONTINUING WITH THE BUDWIG PROTOCOL,
A MIRACULOUS RECOVERY HAS TAKEN PLACE IN MY JOINTS: I have hardly any pain
(while in the beginning of the year, the pain issue had taken over my
daily life completely), CAN MOVE NORMALLY, and AM FULL OF ENERGY. And this
in spite of the fact that in June of this year, I went through the most
stressful period of my life when I was arbitrarily evicted from my living
space of eight years and my husband received two paycuts reducing our
income to survival level...

My diet now consists of some of the following: I eat all whole and living
foods, and no sugar. It is mostly vegetarian so I eat many veggies
including leek, chives, onions, garlic, cabbage, asparagus, red peppers,
brussels sprouts, etc. I have organic cold-pressed flaxseed oil with
cottage cheese or yogurt religiously, and also have a lot of fruits, in
fact I bought a blender and food processor and now mix different fruits
together and make some delicious drinks! You can also mix veggies. When I
first started, I also did the Lemon/Maple syrup cleanse (see
www.healingcancernaturally.com/detoxification3.html)
and l feel that also helped a lot... I have had great success in improving
my health, but these are just some of the things I have done, as I had no
other choice if I was to have excellent health as I had pictured.
I might also add that I started taking the soap and neutralizer from
Miracle Products, which also helped tremendously so far. I also used to
take joint pain cream which helped a lot as well.

Other modalities I have been using are:
I knew that my life was filled with stress, coming from almost every
direction, so I had to get a handle on that.. I put a lot of energy into
meditating daily, and more than once.. I played relaxing music, read books
on self-help and more. I have now a completely different outlook on my
life and have managed with the help of a few fantastic friends, family and
our Creator, to be more positive and to watch my words, as they have much
power. I have learned for instance not to refer to "my osteoarthritis" as
I used to (thereby telling my subconscious to continue helping to create
it) but to use affirmations such as "I am getting healthier every day",
"my body heals itself", "I am now healing/healthy" etc. My spiritual
belief system has also played a tremendous part in my healing, and whether
you call God, or Creator, or Source, has touched me beyond belief and I am
ever so grateful.

Another thing I realized was that after my accident and following
surgeries, I had no way of exercising, especially since I could hardly
walk... I have a neighborhood pool where I live that is 60 ft. long, so I
started going over there every day, and at first I just walked across the
pool in the water and discovered that there's no gravity and that it was
for most part, pain free! I then started doing other exercises that
involved moving both legs, then added the arms. When I felt comfortable in
the water, I started swimming for the first time in years! I did one lap
and I can remember that day, as I felt so proud... The next day I did 2
laps.. I kept it up, even when it got painful, as I hadn't used some of
those muscles for years, but was determined to get my health back.. Right
now, I do over 1/2 mile everyday (34 laps), so I am not only getting
fantastic exercise, which is one of the most important things for your
body, but also, I am getting natural vitamin D from the sun.

I have also incorporated some natural herbs, including ginger, turmeric,
echinacea, golden seal, ginseng, cayenne, pau d'arco, St. John's Wort,
acidophilus, garlic, seaweed, and I drink tons of water..

I'm still taking lots of natural vitamin supplements, since as I got to
feeling so much better, I was afraid to stop any of them, as I didn't know
which ones or maybe all, were helping... (though they clearly hadn't
helped much originally when the health of my joints was further
deteriorating leading to the worst continual pain episodes in my life as
above described) plus have just ordered some Very Berry from Naturally
Women. Some of these have replaced the poisons my doctors were feeding me!
My friend Mary is taking wheatgrass with water, and suggested I do the
same for the sometimes swelling ankles.

I know I've probably forgotten some things, but this is most of what I'm
doing and eating, and my life has improved on every level.. The exercise
releases endorphins and my depression has almost gone.. From the swimming,
I have now lost 3 sizes and I know this will increase. Probably for me,
it's all of these things working together that are really helping. I don't
feel if I did just one part, that my life would have taken the upwards
turn it did, so I try real hard and include it all, but have to admit,
that sometimes I may "cheat" just a little, but it's OK now, as I know my
health has finally returned... it's just amazing what's going on in my
body, and I am ever so thankful for all the help and support I received. I
wish everyone would go on that Budwig diet as I can see the differences
and it's truly amazing.. I work at it everyday, but never want to go back
to the way I was.. This is so nice to be able to do so many things and
feel much healthier! It is truly a great gift to have your health.. There
was a time when I had thought this was no longer possible, but with
knowledge and determination, I have come a long ways! I want to help
anyone I can with this, and I share it on a personal level, and would be
happy to see it shared on a larger level, of all those that may want to
hear it.

I hope that this message touches you, as it is my story, and one that has
been quite an interesting and exciting one for me. Please refer always to
the comprehensive health recovery and maintenance site
www.healingcancernaturally.com for more information and advice, I have
learned tremendously from it. The learning I have received has involved
much more than one area of my life, which in the beginning, I thought that
diet was what it was all about, but the more I read, the more I learned
that we have to have a Balanced life, and you will find this, and so much
more positive and informative information at this site.

If I can do this, after never learning to cook or anything, then you can
do it also! Wishing you so much good luck!

Carol Pippin

Re: Seven times Nobel Prize nominee?

Wilhelm ~

Thanks for adding to my understanding of Dr. Budwig's renown. But other than websites, is there anything that corroborates such things? The reason I ask is that I'm trying to influence a friend of mine to try the Budwig Diet in addition to the dacarbazine/cisplatin (chemotherapy) he's now taking for Stage 4 melanoma. Statistically, few people survive at this point with conventional medicine. On the other hand, alternative therapies need more than anecdotes about their effectiveness to recommend them, don't they?

Liz and Catherine,
these topics repeat themselves. That is no fault of yours - it is just the nature of these lists. There are always new members coming on stream who don't know what has been discussed before.

First of all let me say that I don't know whether Dr.Budwig wrote of herself that she had been nominated for the Nobel Prize. She was always very factual, truthful and scientific without any exaggerations. She alienated the money makers of this world because she chose to pursue the truth rather than bend to their demands. That is why she is not better known and not accepted by the establishment.

We have discussed Dr.Weil's off-handed and misleading remarks about Dr.Budwig at some length. I don't want to get into it now. Check the archives and you will find a lot on it. But since the Nobel Prize nominations are brought up again, check message # 17779. I will copy the gist of it here:

"Hi Rick,
Coming back to the German web page you posted.
It says near the beginning, in a letter written by Brkki Halme, Professor, Senator h.c., that he nominated Dr.Budwig for the Nobel Prize in 1985. So much for Dr.Weil's statement that the nominations don't mean much because anybody can nominate. Prof. Halme is not just anybody! He also runs (or is instrumental in) a clinic in Finland where Dr.Budwig's method is used with great success (I read that elsewhere)."

Yes, that is only one of the 6 or 7 nominations usually quoted but does it matter? I am sure more proof of other nominees will come to light as we keep reading.

Wilhelm

Yes, this is true...I never placed much credence in it b/c early on in my
cancer searched I went to andrew weil's website and he says to take with a grain
of salt all her nominations because you can nominate youself. However, it
hasnt made a particle bit of difference in my opinion of the Budwig
protocol...which I hope and believe is a very worthwhile, helpful treatment.
Liz

Diabetes and FO/CC

Devingel

Hi All,

I saw someone's question about Diabetes and FO/CC. I have a similar question. My mom's blood pressure and sugar levels went up slightly when she started taking the FO/CC. Is that normal? He blood is thinner as now when she is on the IV for chemo if we dont shut it off in time - the blood backs up in the tube. But with blood going thinner BP shudnt go up right?

Her BP normally is 120/80 like clockwork but this time it was 130/90 and 130/80. And her sugar levels are normally around 140-160 but now they are around 170-190. I know these changes will not make a significant difference to her well being but just wondering whether these are signs of something?

style and translation

silouan22

It's hard to beat Don Quixote's comment that translation is like
looking at a tapetry from the back side. That is particularly true of
poetry.

In regard to sentence length in recent English style, it is true that
since Hemingway sentences are shorter; also since TV thoughts
are more often impulses as short as a heartbeat.

When it comes to an enduring concept that is essentially a
process that keeps us alive, and living better, I appreciate an
expression as short as a clear recipe, and if that takes away my
cancer I will express my joy in sentences as long as any Milton
wrote.

Love and health to all,
