I’m sure making your own is better, but this is an option too. It is sold in the refrigerated section.

I have not made kraut or juiced it and buy it already made at the health food store. I don’t know how you have time to do all that and make carrot juice and the FO/CC.
The one I use is called “Gut Shots” and another one available is kimchi juice. I like the Gut Shots best. The label says “Farmhouse Culture Gut Shots Organic Probiotic.” Ingredients: green cabbage, cucumber, sea salt, dill, garlic (all organic). Made in Watsonville, CA.

There is very little juice when I make kraut.? The juice comes from processing the kraut through my Omega 8004 juicer.? For the same reason we juice veggies, juice is much faster and easier to digest than solid foods.

Why does Dr. Budwig want us to drink the juice instead of just eating the sauerkraut. If you don't make your own, there is not that much juice in the jar.

Re: Pancreatic cyst

Greetings,

Based on my recent experience with my uncle (81 years old) with cancer (lung, not pancreatic), I have a few
suggestions:

1. ?Ask the doctors if they are going to do a geriatric assessment before doing?
medical procedures and treatments, including biopsies, surgery, etc. ? These assessment tools
can predict complications based on age and other co-morbidities, such as cardiovascular disease,
diabetes, etc. ?My uncle's doctors did NOT do this assessment. ?I believe this led to a painful death from
chemotherapy toxicity and sepsis.

2. ?If a biopsy will be done, ask how many biopsies the doctor has done. ? I would want a very
experienced doctor to do this.

3. ?If it is cancer, go online and do some research on treating pancreatic cancer in elderly patients.
You can use this information to make a list of questions for the doctor. ?Consider a second opinion
from a geriatric oncologist.

As far as FOCC, Sandra, who manages this group and the group members who've had pancreatic cancer and are on the Budwig diet
can answer this question. ?Below is a recent study on the Whipple procedure in the elderly.

Best wishes,
Marilyn

Hello
My mom is 80 years old and has had a pancreatic cyst for the past few years. Every 2 years she gets a ct scan. This last time there was a growth and they are giving her 2 options. One she can get an endoscopy and get a piece of the cyst removed and checked for cancer. If it proves to be cancerous they are suggesting a whipple surgery to remove that part of the pancreas. Or wait 6 months and get a second ct scan to see if there is growth.
First of all I would like to know if it is safe to do focc being that it's the pancreas and oily foods can be harmful to the pancreas.
Second I would like to know other people's experience regarding a situation like this.
Thanks

Re: Sauerkraut

Hi Jolane,

The reason that sauerkraut is better than taking a probiotic capsule is that whole foods such as sauerkraut ?contain enzymes, nutrients and probiotics that are not included in man-made supplements. Supplements are not as beneficial as eating whole foods. Researchers are still discovering the many nutrients available in whole foods. So, what you get in a supplement is limited. To fight cancer, you need the best nutrition you can get.

Dr. Budwig was against taking supplements. She healed thousands of cancer patients without using them. Not only are many supplements limited in what they offer you, in many cases your body doesn't absorb what they do offer and most have preservatives/chemical additives that actually promote cancer growth.

After making homemade sauerkraut and letting it ferments for several weeks, run the sauerkraut and brine water that's in it through a juicer to get the juice that's recommended. Drink 6 or 8 oz of it each morning on an empty stomach.

Kind regards,
Sandra Olson

Re: Sauerkraut

Got this from the web.? Also read that the ph of sauerkraut is approx. 3.? The longer it ferments the better the ph.

"When you make sauerkrauts you are in fact concocting a vessel full of enzymes, lactobacilli and an alkaline reactive food source... a powerhouse of nutrition for your stomach, intestines, organs and entire body." Sandor Katz ()

Many health experts agree that a healthy life begins with a healthy digestive tract.? When digestion is "off track" it can effect many bodily functions and hinder the efficiency of the vital organs and glands. Our ability to digest the foods we eat keeps us in top shape for preventing acute and chronic illness and disease.

Eating sauerkraut is the preventative approach to maintaining health at its root in the digestive system.

Re: Those that have hormone driven breast cancer do you take DIM?

Hi,
I'm considering this supplement for prevention, so I've been looking for more information on it.
I read that higher doses of DIM can have a counterproductive effect.

While many DIM supplements contain?100 mg-800 mg?of DIM, some studies show that a daily dose of?30 mg?DIM is enough for the average person–in actuality, the body may only absorb up to a?60 mg dose. DIM in high doses can work counterproductively, decreasing T levels, reversing hormonal balance and increasing estrogen production.?Due to this, we recommend erring on the cautious side by sticking to?lower?DIM levels.

Kefir/ was Re: Substitute for Sauerkraut Juice

Hi Ron,

Kefir is a fermented milk made from cow milk and “kefir grains” which are a special mixture of beneficial bacteria and yeasts that provide various health benefits. These 'grains' look like small cauliflower florets. The word “grains” should not be taken literally. It's basically the name for the live cultures of beneficial yeasts and bacteria. As Denise said, kefir is an animal product. It's not grain based.

Kind regards, Sandra

I don't think you should add the kefir because animal products should be limited to the cc prescribed in the diet. You can eliminate the sauerkraut juice, reduce the amount, eat some nuts just after drinking it, or try switching to a different fermented vegetable. Personally, I would omit it and possibly add it to a salad dressing or savory FOCC mixture later in the day. Certainly, the diarrhea isn't doing you any good.?
