Pooh The Cat and Cancer

Folks, I hope this short but true story about my neighbor's cat will provide true inspiration in your journey to be well....

When my husband and I moved into our house over 10 years ago, we noticed a black cat who would walk up and down the road with wobbly hind legs. "Pooh" looked like he always had somewhere to go and places to be. He would go to greet every neighbor (if they liked cats) when they came home from work and just say "meow".

Well, "Poohs" parents live across the street and as I got to know them, they told me the cat was the runt of the litter and had "cerebral palsy." Needless to say, that cat always makes me smile when I see him because he seemed to have such determination wherever he went.

When we moved into our home, Pooh's age was about 4...well, the next year, at age 5, "Pooh" was determined by a vet to have terminal cancer. Via exploratory surgery, Pooh had cancer of the liver that had metastisized (ignore my spelling). Pooh wasn't eating much and was losing weight. Well, my neighbor said she just wanted him to live the rest of his life in peace and would not use any chemicals on her cat. The vet closed up Pooh and sent "him home to die.

My neighbor started cooking organic food once Pooh came home from surgery...that was over 9 years ago....and guess who is still walking into my house everyday! POOH!!!! At 14, he still is strutting up and down the street greeting us all. What a fella!
