Re: OT--Hi-Glycemic Foods

From: "Paul Cates" <paerca@...>
Does it help to limit Hi Glycemic foods also.
Yes.
I know not sugar but
how about watermelon, potatoes, etc with a High Glycemic index?
Because of their high-glycemic index and other problems, I would
totally AVOID
parsnips, white/red potato (in particular), nonsprouted wheat,
couscous, and corn(meal).

Because of their high-glycemic index, I wouldn't eat LARGE amounts of
the
following foods on an empty stomach: dates, pumpkin, rutabaga,
watermelon,
millet, pineapple, cantaloupe, rice, muesli, canned apricots, mango
(Both the
above lists of foods are listed in order of glycemic index, starting
w/the
highest-glycemic.). However, I WOULD make it a point to eat dates (but
NOT on empty stomach), watermelon,
millet, cantaloupe, brown rice, and apricots, due to their
cancer-healing
properties. I wouldn't worry at all about the glycemic index of any
other
HEALTHY foods.

Are grapes (44 GI) too high?
certainly not
