Have you ever heard of Weston A Price Foundation? There are chapters
set up in every state and in most countries. Sally Fallons (president
of WAPF) wrote a cook book entitled Nourising Traditions. It is more
than a cookbook, as it also has a lot of information about how our
fore fathers used to prepare foods, like culturing and fermenting. All
based on Dr Price's (a dentist) findings when he traveled the world
looking for the healthiest people to study them and find the reason
for their excellent health. The yahoo group set up for followers is
called Native Nutrition. It is there I learned about kefiili and
someone sent me some grains.
Yes, I very much like the idea about a dark pink salad! I am looking
forward to making it! I have not had potatoe salad in a very long time
because I have not found a suitable dressing but I believe now with
the basic recipe for the mayo in the FO cookbook I will be able to
make a delicious dressing! I am having conflict with my family, who
does not want to eat anything that is good for them! I need to prepare
some very delicious foods that they can't resist that is also good for
them.
Thanks,
Del

Hi Del,
Thanks for your explanation regarding kefiili - very interesting
indeed.
Where did you manage to find kefiili?
If you like the idea of a dark pink salad, the potato salad is the
way to go
Yes, when I served the salad, his remarks were that he has never
tasted a
pink salad. Then after his 2nd helping of the pink salad with the pink
salmon, and his remark about the fo/cc, I told him. He didn't
believe me.
I very often think that those gag reflexes some people have when
they first
try the fo/cc is all in the mind. With a little bit of imagination
one can
incorporate the fo/cc in most of your dishes and hardly even notice
it.

Hi Cheryl,
Long story, short....kefiili has all the same properties of kefir, is
made with grains or a culture. I do mine with grains.
I guess the guy that was saying he would vomit was wolfing down the
salad and liking it! You did tell him later, didn't you?
