Re: Breast Cancer... Wound Healing

You can also purchase a simple home test on Amazon.com for about $85 - a little more expensive, but convenient if you don't live near a walk in lab.

A problem in getting tested for Vitamin D is that Medicare will only pay for ONE vitamin D test in a lifetime, unless there is a specific reason for doing so. ??I guess they assume if your Vitamin D is good when you are 65, it will always be good.? (Or is it that fixing a low Vitamin D level doesn¡¯t require expensive drugs or procedures?)

?

We use to get a much better price (they frequently have sales).? There is a LabCorp person at our doctor¡¯s office, and she will do our Walkinlab testing.? ?We get tested every year ¨C it¡¯s worth paying about $50 for each of us.

Oh, this is so true.? I live in No. CA which is considered a Mediterranean equivalent in climate.? In fact, I am of Italian heritage with olive complexion.? At 63 yo, I am a typical native CA sunworshipper and have been my entire life.? Nevertheless, I was tested for Vit D last year and came up severely deficient.? I, too, am a Stage IV colorectal cancer survivor and what triggered this test was my dx of full osteoporosis.? I'm sure that if not directly causative (which could certainly be the case), the D deficiency contributed to both illnesses.? So, my advice is:? No matter the climate where you live or your ethnic background, GET TESTED!!!

Many Colon Cancer patients are vit D insufficient or deficient, maybe not you, down there in Kenya with allot of sunshine, but if you measure 25 OH-D you'll? know for sure.
And vit D3 level is very relevant for you ( most on this list ).
