Speaking of songs stuck in one's head for years and years...

?

I often have had this tune stuck in my head, a tune that has some added kiddie lyrics about a little goat... Basically, some "real" song with some added joke/jingle lyrics that we thought were funny when we were kids (all this in Greek).

It goes like this: aba-ni-bi-ah-ba-ni-beh---to katsikaki kanei behhh (translation:"aba-ni-bi-ah-ba-ni-beh---the little goat goes "beeeh").?

?

So I googled it, in Greek characters, about a month ago (after decades of singing it at random moments, without having a clue as to the origin)

?"¦Á ¦Ì¦Ð¦Á ¦Í¦É ¦Ì¦Ð¦É ¦Á ¦Ì¦Ð¦Á ¦Í¦É ¦Ì¦Ð¦Å"

?

And what do I find????!!!!

it is the 1978 Eurovision entry of Israel (and winner of the contest):

?

I don't know what amazed me more: how old the origins of that melody embedded in my brain is, or the fact that I put the query?in Google (which makes zero sense in Greek, it's just meaningless syllables) and it found it immediately...

Good stuff Adam, I'll listen to these when I'm not surrounded by other
tasteless judgemental humans.

Speaking of "awful, but strangely alluring", I regularly get a song stuck
in my head - I'm pretty sure that Pete introduced me to the band.? I
know the song's called Nature, but that's all I've got.? There's some
high-pitched caterwauling, some fairly shambolic vocals and a really
really catchy section of tune.? It goes like this bom bom bom,
bom-ba-bom-ba-bom, da-da-doo-doo da-da-doo-doo.? Anyway, I love it, but
I can't remember for the life of me.

Pete?? PETE!?

Oh, why won't he answer?
