Re: Petition text

This is good, Vivian!

Since it's not an official petition why bother with that humbly language at the end? People won't know why it's there.?

You can probably guess that I'd rather see an ask for a Citizens' Assembly without delay since as we've seen no government is just going to bring in PR and if we don't direct them to a good process we will inevitably get the made-to-fail process.?

While it's very important to acknowledge the 2004 report, it was almost 20 years ago now. It's sort of like there's no way the federal Liberals feel the least bit pressured because of the 2004 Law Commission report.

I'd definitely encourage you, when the group is ready, to have me put it on our civi platform. It's not as beautiful looking as a page like but it means you are adding people to our database (getting emails) that you can communicate with in future - building FVC in NB so when you're ready to do a "next thing" like visit your MLA or lobby for a resolution at a convention there's a list of people to ask.

Glad to see you doing this!

Anita

Hi,

What do you think of this text for a petition? I'd like some feedback. You should be able to suggest edits, if I've set it up properly anyway.

I'm not happy with the last sentence. It's long and clunky. I based it on the sample text that the NB government website suggests for petitions, and their version is way worse. But this is still bad. Rewording is welcome.

You can see the government's suggested text at? . It won't be an official petition because official petitions can only be on paper, so we don't have to follow their formula, which is incredibly butt-kissing and shows no sign of having been updated for the new millennium.

Thanks,
