Re: TIDRADIO
it does but unless? you have the odmaster Bluetooth to K-type dongle it won't work. Better off using Chirp with standard K to USB lead, you can export frequencies across many radio models/brands as long as the frequencies are compatible ie.. no Airband? - don't try forcing it to a radio that can't receive it. The import will fail. On Wed, 25 Sept 2024, 00:50 John Geiger AF5CC via , <Af5cc1=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: TIDRADIO
Here's a few things to consider if you haven't already. Since you
didn't provide much information on what you tried. If you already are aware of these things, then maybe someone else can benefit. Have you downloaded the memory structure file from the radio first? Many don't realize this is the first step. You can't import anything but the specially structured file that was downloaded from the same model radio (or one you downloaded and changed yourself) then uploaded it to the radio. That needs to be done first to set up the file that you're going to enter programming data into for each memory channel. Save what you downloaded, even if it has things on it you're going to erase, just in case you mess something up, so you can go back to this stage. Then you can copy and paste into that downloaded form you have after downloading the file from the radio. Be sure you only copy columns into appropriate columns in your radio. There may be columns that aren't in the same place as the CSV file has. Or columns that are different. Don't change the positions of the columns. Does this help? ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSorry but that I cannot help you with. I don't know how to move that kind of file around.? I just typed in all of the frequencies into ODmaster which was a lot of work, but then I was just programming FM satellite frequencies. 73 John AF5CC Sent using Zoho Mail ---- On Tue, 24 Sep 2024 15:41:13 -0500 Greg Halsey <ghalsey4@...> wrote ---

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDoes the ODMaster program/app work with it?? That is the program that the Tidradios use for programming via bluetooth.? Re: Baofeng UV-5RM Plus help with resetting
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe seller did contact me pretty quickly last night, but I did get it solved before that with an internet search and some trial and error.? The internet told me that the default Baofeng password is 000000, the trial and error was that you need to hit the menu button after typing in the password. The power on resets I found online didn't work with this model. So, if you get a used Baofeng with a password on it, try 000000 MENU to see if that unlocks. I would never have a reason to password protect my Baofeng but I suppose some others might have need to. 73 John AF5CC Sent using Zoho Mail ---- On Thu, 12 Sep 2024 06:39:22 -0500 Michael Waldrop <mikew5rkl@...> wrote ---

Re: Baofeng UV-5RM Plus help with resetting
John,
?
Don't waste you time trying to get the password. This is Amazon's fault.
?
You have 2 options
?
1. Request a complete refund
2. Request a replacement new radio without a password at their expense.
?
It's entirely up to you if you want to waste time with Amazon waiting to
get a password.

Baofeng UV-5RM Plus help with resetting
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI purchased a refurbished Baofeng UV-5RM Plug off of Amazon and it finally arrived today after UPS misplacing it for a week.? It looks in good shape but is password protected when I turn it on. The seller didn't provide the password.? Amazon has sent them a message but I wondering if there is a way to do a power on reset which will reset the radio when I don't have a password.?? Anyone know how to do this? 73 John AF5CC Sent using Zoho Mail |
Re: Programming software communication issue
Thanks, Don.
?
I had previously looked at a Win 10 laptop and saw;
?
?
$15 & tax to upgrade to Wun 11 Pro 64 bit.
?
I asked the vendor I ended up using, which SAID it was Win 11 etc. and if there was not a way to avoid returning the Win 10 they erroneously sent. I was offered $30 and accepted.?
?
Now I see $99 and $159 and wonder if I stumbled onto a shyster. They do promise a key. They did return my $17, no questions asked.
?
A small aside; I ordered an external player to install some older software. I'm old school and like hard copies. That said, I have been out of the game and have forgotten entirely too much. I FEEL like I went from Win 3.1 through the gambit to Win 2000 in 5 years!
?
Sorry this us not all BAOFENG!!!
TIA

DM-1701 official firmware
Do you know where the official DM-1701 v2.03 firmware and the "DMR Firmware Download software" can be downloaded?
?
I downloaded the Baofeng_DM-1701_CPS_1.05 archive from their official site, but only the programming software "CPS? DM-1701 V1.05" is inside and not the firmware update tool and the firmware itself.
?
I can't find any official DM-1701 firmware or firmware update tools on the internet. |
Re: Programming software communication issue
That uses an older Prolific driver that doesn't check for a fake
Prolific chip or an older one that they no longer support. It works, so no reason to buy a different cable. Re: Programming software communication issue
Did it come with a free upgrade to 11?
If not, there's still a way to upgrade, as I did it to 5 laptops and two desktops here. Some of the laptops were several years back. None had the "required" newer hardware. There's an installer you can make and put it on a USB stick to upgrade to 11 and eliminate the checks for the newer hardware. The downside is that it is possible Microsoft may sometime put an update that's incompatible with your laptop for some reason. But you'd still be better off, I think, with that than a Windows 10 PC that's at the end of life support. UV-17R PLUS DTMF Feature
According to the documentation, DTMF options can be changed by pressing the # key.
?
When I do that, it comes up with an empty menu, and for each time I press the # key, it adds a "#" with no explanation of what the #s mean.? I got it to ####,? now I can neither add? nor delete #s, and I have? no idea what any of this means.? The manual just tells me how user friendly it is.
?
What am I missing?

Re: UV-82 frequency split
Name, please? . . .
See Mike's comments but if you can otherwise split the band/frequency, then using a PL tone where you don't need it should not be a problem. Now, if you needed a DIFFERENT PL tone for each frequency, that would not be possible. I don't know if this BF HT has a dual-watch feature, but if it does, there might be a way to let it receive on the 2nd VFO and transmit on the first, which might get you what you want. I will defer to Mike on this, though, since I don't have one of these. I have a UV-5R and don't use it much, and it has so many options and features I don't even know about I can't consider myself an expert on it, either. Donald KX8K [We don't have a name/callsign requirement in this group but in most groups it's expected, and in some, like one of the Heathkit groups, it's actually required. It helps make a group more friendly when we know each others' first names and/or callsign. Thanks!!!] On Mon, 05 Aug 2024 20:30:48 -0700, "AI8O" <Spam@...> wrote: PL on UHF.
