I own UV-5X3, AR-5RM, and recently acquired a BF-F8HP PRO. Each of these HTs have done a fantastic job on the 1.25-Meter band on both sending and receiving.

For Mobile/Base operations, the BTech UV-25X4 are great rigs on 220. The only downside is the clicking sounds you hear between 220 and both 144 and 440 bands if you happen to scan all three bands.
