Maybe when I attempted to install RT SYSTEMS version of the software, it gave me new firmware.
This radio is inexpensive enough, I can buy a new one if need be.
This is like putting a baby back together after it's been put in a blender to abort it.
Sorry about the disgusting reference but it seems apt.

When I try what you say, the file window restricts files to *.rdt.
The file that is there ends with *.data.
So I cannot open the file.
I bought an installer for the original software from RT SYSTEMS but I've un-installed that.?

I don't know why you are getting an unknown file type, what you need to do is unzip the DM32 data file out of the zip, For ease just unzip it to your desktop, now run the DM32 programming software, at the top left of the software you will see a folder icon, click this and a small window will open, navigate to where the data file is on your desktop, once at your desktop click the file, then click ok on the small window that just opened, the codeplug is now in the software, you can alter the channels and settings to your own preferences, once you have completed your alterations, click file in the top left, come down to "save as" now click this, another window will open, give your saving codeplug a name, then click save, that is now your own codeplug with your channels in, you can now write the code plug to the radio. Apologies if i'm sounding like i'm teaching folks to suck eggs, :)?
