As I understand it, it was probably illegal for anyone to sell me my BF-888Ss.? However, I don't think it was not illegal for me to buy them.? It would have been illegal for me to transmit with them on any of the frequencies that were programmed into them when they arrived.? I plan to use them as receivers for hidden transmitter hunts.? They now have ham frequencies programmed with the TX function disabled.
