Jim, I have no problem visualizing the person I am communicating with. Comparing to reality is the fun part.?

Let me say I have argued with you in the past, but enjoy many of your thoughts, so take the thoughts knowing they are a sign of respect. Your true image is not far from my guess, a grumpy, old Druid.

I'm mostly a lurker, contribute occasionally. But I get all the emails and read them and have found some answers to questions I've had without having to post the question. The 3G was my first iPhone so I've been around here for 10+ years even if my presence isn't seen often. Thanks for all the feedback I can learn from.

Jim can you tell us how to post a small image like you did?? There is only so much free space they give us

FYI:
This image is only?97 × 128 pixels, and runs to?14.1 KB
If you try to enlarge it you will see it very quickly pixelates out, because it is a severe-compression JPEG.

Firstly, I’ve always been set to individual email messages, not digests.
I believe digests can NOT (at least on Yahoo!) *receive* images.

I have been posting occasional images for years, as parts of problem solutions.
I know others have not been able to, but I just am typing along, break away to create the “tutorial image”, come back to Mail, click on the paperclip icon at the top, and select the image:
Done. Nothing “special” on my end.

One day, I saw someone on one forum had a graphic image in their signature, so I decided to try it. I just edited my “Standard” signature, adding this image, and now it appears as part of my signature on all the messages sent from my Mac. (I haven’t done this on iPhone or iPad).

I’d be happy to participate in paying for the upgrade. ?This group being so important to our understanding of the mysteries of the universe we should have the best platform available. ?We can make the payment voluntary from the members.

Volume Problem

MC Black

Ladies & Gentlemen

I have noticed (since updating the Operating system to 13.something) that when I'm listening to AudioBooks downloaded onto the iphone that the volume resets to the mid point on the scale rather than maximum (where I need it because I suffer from severe hearing loss).

I'm listening on BORROWBOX - which is provided free by Hertfordshire Libraries

I have only noticed this since changing the OS and suspect that's the cause.

Any suggestions, please?

With best wishes and thanks

MC Black

Quality over quantity, any day.?

I'm sure there were many lurkers, many who did not feel they could contribute. It might also be good to thin the ranks of inactive email accounts. A lot of the lurkers are those that only come to the groups, what are not heavy users, and only look when they have a problem, instead of skimming the post and learning ahead of time. Just like face to face groups, sports, hobby or social. There are the doers and those that are just along for the ride.

Re: Slow syncing

开云体育

Good morning all,

Since updating both my iMac (2013) to Catalina, and my iPhone 7+ to 13.1.3 my Notes are not syncing as they use to.

They still sync, but it’s extremely slow, sometimes not happening until overnight while my phone is plugged in charging.

It doesn’t matter if I add/change a note on my phone or Mac, either way it’s extremely slow to sync.

I rely on my Notes for everything, and I do mean everything! ?

I have 171 notes.

I have turned off syncing on my phone (Settings/Apple ID/iCloud/Notes), and on my Mac, and shut down both. ?This removed all my Notes and it took nearly an hour for them to re-appear on both devices.. ?

Calendar has been having somewhat of the same issue with syncing, but not quite as bad.

Any suggestions to speed up syncing would be greatly appreciated.

Janet

Reminders app was behaving just like Notes is for you — s l o w to sync. ?parts would appear and disappear on my iPhone and iPad. ?Now they seem to sync like they did in iOS 12. ?

However, my Watch 3 no longer syncs reminders with my iPhone 7 and iPad Pro. ?I updated to 13.1.3. ?Rebooted. ?Nada. ? I really miss that feature.

After spending 3 hours on the phone with an Apple tech, the problem remains. ?

Rich, I didn’t notice many putting photos in their messages on yahoo.?

If you do slow photos and they go in a photo section, will y those who get the messages in email get to see the photos? Or will they have to go to the website to see them?

I first wanted to allow everything here, then thought if we get bigger and many send pictures, people using cell phones
or limited data plans might not want them.

I can limit the size I think, but then that makes a problem sending them as I just tried a few times and mine were never sent.

We can have a photos sections here on the site, but they have a limit on how much storage else you have to pay.

So are photos important to you and how would you like the group to work?

Howdy! Seeing as many people are experiencing all kinds of issues with their iPhones and iPads, i'm thinking about waiting to update.

Agree or disagree? iPhoneXR, 2019 iPad Air.

Thanks!
