Re: Apple advises iPhone 5 owners to update to iOS 10.3.4 by November 3

Edited

This is how I identify an iPhone model:
?
Go to settings, Click on about, scroll down and find the model number.
?
Search for the model number in to Google and it will identify the iPhone.

I don’t keep much music on my iPhone since I subscribe to Apple Music and listen to it most of the time.

I use the 4K Apple TV all the time. It’s hooked to my TV in my family room. I signed up for Hulu with live TV for a year when they had the deal that you get an Apple TV 4K with it. After the year, the box was mine to keep. I don’t have cable or satellite. I have Hulu with live tv and a hd antenna for off-air tv. That’s it. Works great. I have broadband internet to make everything work.?

I got a flash deal on Amazon last night so didn't pay $200, only $150 so not bad.? Still a little
expensive compared to a FireTv Device or Roku, but I always wanted to try the 4k model.

Anyone else have or tried on of the AppleTV devices?? Mine is the 4k model with 64gb storage.

Hi, from your experience?is it better to keep the photos from the iPhone as HEIC, or most compatible jpeg?
I have a problem in that my old version of Adobe Photoshop 7.0 cannot open HEIC files.
Barry?

Every time an image file is resaved as another file format, some small amount of data is likely to be lost. More with some formats than others.

If you are going to manipulate the image (brightness, contrast, cropping, etc.), that task should be done on an image with the maximum amount of retained data, even if the end product is going to be down-converted to a JPEG.

If your are used to working with an older or less capable application that doesn’t know about HEIC, you might consider getting an app like GraphicConverter, which can pretty much change between ANY image format, and use it to convert the HEIC files to the maximum-retained-detail format the chosen software can handle – such as TIFF.

My “other” camera is a Nikon, and I have it set to save images as BOTH NEF (Nikon’s RAW image format) and also JPEG.

I use the JPEG files for viewing, sending over the internet, etc., but if I’m going to do extensive editing, I do that on the NEF.

I use jpeg because I use a windows PC with older programs and want the best compatibility. If you are using all Apple then stick with HEIC for its less data usage.?

I really like the AppleTV app on it because it keeps track of the various shows I’m watching on sources such as Amazon Prime, HBO Go and programs I’ve downloaded on my Mac. ?I’m looking forward to the + version on November 1.

So far, only 8 hours with it, and I like it. The MAIN THING might depend on if you have other Apple devices. I also have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and it makes everything so much simpler. First setup, all it did was hook to my phone a few seconds then set everything up. To log into new apps you can do it from the phone for the keyboard and other things. Plus all your Apple stuff is there, pics, music, videos, podcasts, etc... If you do not have other Apple stuff, a lot of advantages and features might not apply to you. This is a mostly Apple user product IMO.
