Bob, did by perchance did that part of town have a bunch of oneway streets, or did you set it to avoid any thing?
I don¡¯t drive in downtown Portland, OR any more. Too many oneway streets. My out of state friend was driving, using a navigation app on an Android. It, or his interpretation kept trying to send us down the wrong way, or on a long detour.?
We were in a couple of common tourist areas, and could see our destination, but because of traffic signage, safety or meridians, you could not drive there from here. Two of the four in the car could not walk that far. Once he dropped us off, he had to park the car 3 blocks away, and walk back. It is hell getting old.?

Hi Dave -?
I literally just this week did the same thing: ?gave up on Apple maps, despite having an Apple Watch which integrates beautifully with Apple maps.
My frustration was this: ?imagine a square box on a map and place yourself at the top right-hand corner of that box. ?I did not realize it but the store I wanted to go to was straight south on that box, at its bottom right-hand corner.
Well, Apple maps took me first to the top left-hand corner, then down to the bottom left-hand corner, and finally to my destination, the bottom right-hand corner. ?As I drove it, I began to realize what was happening and by the time I reached my destination was so frustrated with Apple maps that I decided then and there to download Waze and go through its settings and use it instead.
Bob
